Hi,
Been very busy since my last journal entry. Two employees quit so now I am doing my work plus their work until replacement employees can be hired. (Very stressful and I am a stress eater. I have been drinking a lot of water to try to fill up when I start feeling the stress.)

I have been invited to a formal dress birthday party on March 27th. Order a R&M Richard 3/4 sleeve embellished evening gown in color green from JC Penny. (The dress arrived on Valentines day, beautiful dress. I can get in the dress and zip it up but it puts a lot of attention to my stomach which at present is where the fat on my body is concentrated.) I have never worn an evening gown so this is my first dress and I really want to look good. I have hung the dress up so I can see it every morning and every night as a visual reminder. (I have never had to use shapewear in my entire as I believe in working to loose excess weight instead of trying to conceal it, never the less I order some shaping garments as back up plan to wear under the dress. I had no idea how profitable the business of shapewear really was and how women wear these garments everyday the few garments I tried on as a test made me feel like a stuffed sausage.) My goal is to wear the dress without the garments and feel beautiful with all my natural curves as I have done in the past. Looking for work out suggestions for abdominals if you have them.

I also received my fitbit and working on setting it up today so I can start wearing tomorrow.

Exercise Yesterday:

5 am
Cleaned & Mopped both bathrooms and kitchen.
1 load of laundry, stripped bed to mattress and remade bed with clean bed linens.
Cleaned & Mopped tile floor in front of my apartment.
8 am
Went over to the church to start the demolition clean up of the Sunday School rooms and storage area. I moved tables and packed 8 garbage bags with old materials dating as far back as 1979 this included old furniture. Can you say new Decade clean start (No teen or adult volunteer's arrived to help as previously requested the week before,, called for assistance and one 13 year old boy responded but needed a ride. Picked him up at 9 and we went back to working (Feed him breakfast and lunch) had to go find him a couple of times and found him sitting down playing games on cellphone. Got him back into work mode and handed him a broom and dust pan to clean up dust and dead bugs found behind old furniture. (Classroom has not been used for a classroom for at least 6 years. Nice area but was used as a storage area better yet a dumping ground for peoples unwanted home items. (Now residing in a dumpster) We worked until 1 and left the furniture and bags near a door for the guys to move with a note stating "Garbage no rescue for anything trash it all". Left note as older members have a bad habit of keeping broken and unused items stating we can fix this or it can be used. JOKE it's all trash. New furniture order and scheduled to arrive by end of the month along with new and unused toys and games. ) Dropped my helper off at his home and proceeded to donate a huge box of children's books off at Goodwill. You would think I would go home and sleep right. (Wrong) Soaked in a hot tub with Epson salt as I knew my muscles would be sore today. 1 hour later my leg muscles throbbing and relaxing didn't help so I spent another 30 minutes on exercise bike before taking two Advil PM's before calling it a day.

Woke up without any upper body muscle ache but my poor knees are a little soar. (2 Arthritic Knees, but if I keep moving don't usually have pain or stiffness. I usually joke when people start to pity me when they see me using a cane. "Don't let the cane fool you I can do everything except run.)

It's been raining all night and most of the day so my internet connection is spotty. Gotta sign off but looking forward to hearing from my fat secret family.

01 February 2020

Good Morning,

Yes it's the day before Super Bowl and yes the craze has been going on all week in Miami, Florida. Yesterday was the Fast and Furious 9 huge kick off party, unfortunately working people like me could not be there, but I love the movies. I can't wait for this movie opening in May. (Okay enough for the fan out moment and the shameless plug.) It's been raining all night so getting out to walk not on the menu for today. I just got my Fitbit today, so I will be setting it up today. Today is kick of day for military diet. (I am not a fan of diets but I am going to give this a shot to get me kick started as I will transform my food choices over the next forty days.)

I have to admit that I was in a clothing stagnate funk, as I had gotten tired of going into stores and trying on clothes that really didn't flatter my body and made me feel bigger than I was. I thank big girls like Lizzo coming forward and shocking people with her style (granted I don't care for some of her clothing choices), but she showed everyone that big girls can look stylish.

I am a body in transformation right now and I am getting back into looking my best and getting away from the uniform dressing (jeans, black or blue dress pants, shirt, comfortable shoes- boring!!!!) It's true what they say how you dress reflects on how you feel. It's also true that shopping for larger clothing effects the price of your clothing. (More incentive to drop clothing sizes.) I have also purchased clothing that can be altered by a seamstress as I drop the weight. I have been on a movement since spring of last year to transform my clothing. My current rule of thumb is for every new piece I get I give a piece to Goodwill as my clothing is in good condition. (My credit cards are saying hello what happened we where sleeping for 3 years and now you are using us, trust me they will be in hibernation mode real soon but for now I am having fun.) This is a part of me taking care of me as I was busy taking care of everyone else.

I need to hear from my guys really I want to know how many pairs of sneakers you currently have. I have been in conversations with my college son recently about the number of sneakers he must have. (I understand that shoes are guys form of eye candy and I applaud you for styling up your feet, but I also have a question are you caring for your feet when the shoes come off.) Ladies agree that men's feet that are crusty and rusty looking are not sexy in any way. Guys don't be shy speak up and let me hear from you.

Okay for my foodies/Fix It and Forget-t Slow cooker

Chicken in a Pot

1 green bell pepper
1/2 tsp coarse black pepper
1 tsp of dried basil
1/2 cup water or chicken broth or white cooking wine (Cooking wine is my choice)

1. Place vegetables in bottom of slow cooker. Place chicken on top of vegetables.
Add seasonings and water (chicken broth or Wine).

Yes, I cooked this on Thursday night when I got home at 6 and by 11 pm it was done. (The smell was so amazing that I had dozed off and the smell woke me up. I didn't eat it that late but boxed it up for lunch for Friday and the rest of the week. Amazing taste.

27 January 2020

It's been 12 days since I last logged in but I have not been idol besides working 5 days a week I have taken sometime off to see the following movies:

Like a Boss: Loved this movie but most guys would refer to this movie as a chick flick. (Okay just for the records I saw a few guys with their ladies in the theater and it was completely sold out.)This is a girl power movie that shows how a friendship can continue over time with best results. (Surprise guest appearance)

Bad Boys: Okay growing up in Miami, Florida this movie is literally film in locations I have grown up around a few I could figure out but I love the Bad Boys series of movies. (YES, guys you will love this movie lots of action and lots of funny scenes.)

January 23rd dusted of my sneakers that are always in the trunk of my car. (Convenient as I never know where I will end up and want to walk as I love being out in nature. Current doctor has no problem with me walking in the park as opposed to my old doctor.) Left work at 11:00 am for an early lunch. (Beautiful day and no rain, not cold but a nice 74.) I completed walking 1.22 miles in 25 minutes. (I stopped at the exercise stations along the walk and did 20 reps at every station. It's my hope to get to do this on a regular basis as the park is 10 minutes drive from my job.)

I am not sure but I believe I had a little too much caffeine on January 24th as I couldn't sleep so got up early on January 25th (Chinese New Year- Fire horse is my sign if your curious made sure that red wreath and red door matt was in place for good luck, hopefully next year I can get tickets to the lantern festival in West Palm Beach) Instead I stripped my balcony of all plants and gave it a complete scrub down including railing, glass sliding doors and screens, I even took the lighting fixture apart to clean it and discovered it was damaged and needed to be replaced.(Only tenant in the building that takes care of my balcony, the landlord broken fixture today before I came home) I know we are still in winter but the hibiscus bush on my balcony thinks it's spring as it's starting to bloom flowers. (So you could consider this my exercise for the day along with a load of laundry.)

I still had energy to burn yesterday so I stripped out my kitchen and went to degreasing the kitchen cabinets from floor to ceiling. (White so dirt shows up easily, but they look just like the day I moved into this apartment) I even pulled the refrigerator out and cleaned behind it. (No dust bunnies in my kitchen as I do this on yearly basis can't stand roaches so I am a bit of a clean freak - Like using Method cleaning products as they are not toxic and smell great.) Once that was done I proceeded to the guest bathroom to replace the flush lever (I got the old one off with a little elbow grease, but had a hard time tightening up the replacement one properly. Landlord finished the job for me today. I am carpenters daughter so I like to do maintenance on my apartment, but I also let the guys know when I can't handle something and I give it over to them to complete. I bribe them with fresh baked cookies when I am in the cook from scratch mood. They know anything coming out of my kitchen is made fresh and kitchen kept spotless. The landlord say "I enjoy coming into your apartment as it's always clean and smells so good".)
In between cleaning and repairs I cooked the following recipe in the slow cooker.

Tangy Pork Chops
Prep: 25 minutes Cook Time: 5-6 hours low heat

4 1/2 inch thick pork chops (No Bone, No Fat)
1/8 tsp. pepper
2 medium onions

1 large green pepper
14 oz Fireroasted Diced Tomatoes Garlic (Hunts)
1/3 cup Ketchup
2 Tbsp. cider vinegar
2 Tbsp. brown sugar
2 Tbsp. Worcestershire Sauce
1 Tbsp. lemon juice
1 beef bouillon cube
2 Tbsp. cornstarch
2 Tbsp. water 4

1. Place chops in slow cooker. Sprinkle w/salt and pepper.
2. Add onions, celery, pepper and tomatoes.
3. Combine ketchup, vinegar, brown sugar, Worcestershire sauce, lemon juice and bouillon. Pour over vegetables.
4. Cover. Cook low 5-6 hours.
5. Combine cornstarch and water until smooth. Stir into slow cooker.
6. Cover, cook on high for 30 minutes or until thick.
7. Serve over rice. (I use Parboiled rice)

Can substitute beef, chicken legs and thighs instead of pork.

I decided to share the recipe as it was absolutely delicious and made for a great lunch today.

Hope you give it a try, tell me if you like it.

I bought a slow cooker last year with hopes of getting back into cooking meals at home instead of take out.

Next recipe I will try will be Chicken in a pot after making a trip to the farmers market to get locally grown vegetables.

Healthy and Happy New year to my Fatsecret family.

I didn't weigh in this morning, but will record it tomorrow.

15 January 2020

I am on my second week at work for 2020. (Stress eating already )
I have to admit that it is difficult for me to log on to another computer in the evening after working on a computer for 8 hours a day. (Working hard to get in an long in here nightly but I must admit it's difficult to do and live a life with out so much technical devices)

I didn't make a new years resolution as I know most people miss the goal 5 days into the new year. I choose to take the following challenges for 2020.

First Challenge
1. Think of one word that will describe yourself for "2020". (Just one word and think long and hard before you choose your word. )
2. Once you have selected your word go to Webster dictionary and get the definition of the word that will describe you for "2020".
3. Write this word on paper with the definition and place it somewhere you will be able to see it everyday.
4. You must live this word everyday for "2020".
5. If you like the challenge then pass it on to your family and friends, but don't judge or comment on anyone else words.
( This will be a life changing event if you can make your word a part of your everyday life.)

(Some examples of words given from friends who are working the challenge foe 2020: Hopeful, Motivated & Positive)

2nd Challenge is called the 52 week savings plan.

1. First week put $1 away and not spend it.
2. Second week double the amount to $2 away and not spend it.
3. Third week triple the amount to $3 away and not spend it.
You continue to double the funds as shown for the next 52 week. (Upon the end of the year you are to take the funds and deposit them into a savings account /CD account.)
This challenge works out for your benefit. To save more you can change the starting amount but remember as the weeks progress so does the amount. (Example $5,$10, $15, $20, etc. )

First Movie of the new decade: Like a Boss!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Loved this movie, very funny, and shows how friends who stick together through thick and thin in a common goal can turn their dreams into $$$$$$.
(Yes, a chick flick so guys going into this movie must check your guy card at the door, but that's okay because "BAD BOYS" is on the menu for next week.)
