Have thought a lot about how things are going, weight loss very slow and energy levels even lower.

I think I am taking in too few calroes and have decided to increase my daily intake by 200 calories per day to 1,400 per day or a weekly 9,800 calories.

I have also read on the internet that you can zig zag calorie levels so each week you take in the same amount but vary the amount of calries day by day. I have worked out the following regime which I will try from Sunday 5th June:
Day 1 Sunday - 1,400
Day 2 Monday - 1,300
Day 3 Tuesday - 1,600
Day 4 Wednesday - 1,200
Day 5 Thursday - 1,300
Day 6 Friday - 1,600
Day 7 Satruday 1,400

I am also intending to do a workout first thing in the morning to give my fat stores a kick; without breaskfast first you have to use stored fat for energy.......havent done any excercise this week.....we'll see how this goes.

I changed from Atkins after being on it for 6 weeks to a low calorie diet on Wednesday because I hadnt lost weight for a month. Although I never felt hungry, and I felt none of the rushes I used to get with eating carbs, I was eating too many calories with the protein and fats. The sell was that you could eat anything....assuming that you didnt over eat! and that you didnt have to count calries.....but for me...it seems... I do over eat and I do have to count the calories! So if I have to count calries I might as well be on a calorie controlled diet and each anything I want rather than enduring the restrictions on the Atkins diet.
However since introducting carbs back into my diet I have also introduced hunger, and the rushes that come with eating carbs....but.....I'm losing weight....3 lbs since Wednseday...a lot I know but I can introduce more calries to slow this down, which means I can eat more of what I like.
The only dilemma I have at the moment are my thoughts about the physiological arguments for and against either high fat and low carbs or more carbs and low fat and the fact that I really do think over the years of eating a crap diet I have developed the metabolic syndrome described as insulin resistance, a tendancy to increasing fasting blood sugars and a rising BP, in the atkins which is being further verified by how I feel since I re-introduced the carbs.
Since Wednesday I have had lots of hungry episodes during the day, I can feel a 'rush' each time I eat anything with carbs in, and I'm often light headed. This last symptom may be because I'm not eating enough, but I'm going slow on this theory because I have been desperate to start losing weight during this last four weeks on Atkins. I lost 12 lb in the first two weeks so stalling for so long was realing making me feel depressed.
Although I have all the symptoms of eating carbs I feel good about losing the weight.
