Well, the three of us on this diet went grocery shopping. Really surprised to see a half full cart compared to the full carts loaded with boxes and bags before. BUT...boy was that cart heavy! Have the menu for the week almost ready, just needs some tweakin'.
Tomorrow morning is "weigh" day for me. I notice a difference so hoping for a few pounds less on the scale. Fingers crossed.

I'm learning and am a work in progress. It's funny how when I record everything that I wonder how in the heck I gained weight in the first place. I can't even get to the max of my calories each day which is 1700. But cutting out the snacks (potato chips, candy, especially Jujy Fruits, cookies, cakes, etc.) has really made a big difference and the food I am eating now IS lower in carbs. I cut out bread completely and eating the Extreme Wellness low carb tortillas instead, which taste pretty darn good.
I am also only weighing myself once a week. Weight fluctuates every day, so once a week is plenty, I think. I don't have a lot of weight to take off but every pound lost is a healthier me. And at age 60 I need all the "health" I can get.

I had a coupon for Jimmy Dean's Delight Frittatas (Bacon & Spinach) a while back and had bought them thinking they might be good for a snack. My sister and I were stunned to see how well they will fit into our diets AND they taste good!!! So I ended up going blind looking for more products like that. Four hours worth of browsing the web to find out how few actual pre-packaged meals there really are for this kind of diet. But I did find some Atkins meals that will work and the Jimmy Dean's Delight Turkey Sausage & Bacon Frittatas. These will work well for my sister to take to work and for our breakfasts. So I will actually only have to cook one meal a day instead of three! YES!!!!!
Tonight's menu: Garlic Parmesan Crusted Salmon and Asparagus

When I look at what I normally eat in a day versus my exercise, it makes me wonder how I even gained any weight to begin with. Even with a hypothyroid. Of course, I did cut out the sweet stuff recently...no candies. (I miss Jujy Fruits!!!)
