How many times have you started a diet? Have you went to the gym? How many times have you started WW or some other program? I've done them all...MULTIPLE times. I realized that my problem isn't starting, it's FINISHING.

I admit, if I have been good, exercised, ate exactly as I was supposed to, and I get on the scale and it hasn't moved, or has went up (which sometimes happens and it drives me crazy) then I get discouraged. I start doubting myself, I feel frustrated that I did everything "right" and got this crappy result. So, I give up....and then after a while, I hit the repeat button and do it all over again.

I realized that I am living my life like it's groundhog day, over and over in the same pattern. So, now it's not about starting this journey, because I've got that part down pat, it's about finishing it. It's not about watching the scale like a hawk, but seeing how my clothes fit, and if I FEEL better. If I want to succeed, and I do, then I have to change my predictable pattern. I have to focus not on starting the journey, but on finishing it.

This time, my eye is going to be on the goal....on my health. To be committed by making my health a priority so I can be a participant in life, not a drain on it. So the finish line is still too far ahead for me to see, but I know it's up there. To make the best choices I can, to move towards that goal EVERY SINGLE DAY until I see it, until I reach it.
