"SET POINT ?"

I think I am beginning to truly believe in the "set point" theory I read about a couple of years ago. The notion that each of us has a subconscious "set point" which we see ourselves in terms of size (weight). Our self-image if you will. But this idea is largely subconscious and therefor inaccessible to our mind, but we subconsciously do whatever it takes to achieve our "set point." Maybe I'll read up on it to see how we can change our subconscious "set point."
Whatever.

It is becoming increasingly clear that I will not enter all of what I eat do to the fact that what I eat often is not listed, so rather than guess I will simply not enter the figures. I realize that is dangerous for me to do by way of motivation. Interested parties will just have to "trust me" that I am keeping under 2K calories a day in order to loose weight. I certainly will not enter what I eat on the weekends, because my wife is home to cook, and she does NOT keep track of the ingredients she uses. Neither will I. Interested parties can track my progress by my weight loss or gain.

But I WILL sign in and post my weight loss or gain on a regular basis. I think that will suffice.

I may be gaining back some. For over a day I dropped below 190 pounds, which for me was a real achievement. But I notice I am back up to 192 today, so I may be gaining it back. It is so hard to tell. When I was younger I used to regularly "sway" as much as five pounds during a day. Now I "loose" five pounds and I assume I have accomplished a major feat! But for all I know, I could be "swaying" a little. I dunno. I need to discover how my body prefers to work.

I suppose each of us is a bit different. There is probably a better term for whatever weight fluctuations a person normally goes through in a day or so, but I will call it "sway."

I know some prefer to "weigh in" less often than daily, but for me daily is the only way to keep track. I guess I am really beginning to appreciate the fact that each of us is a little different, and our bodies work similarly but not the same. I hope I can get my "set point" down to 180 or even lower and that it will be what is right for me. It is so hard for me to tell. I am not used to keeping conscious track of these things - but I suspect I should have been for some time now.

Thanks you all for your support and encouragement! I have really grown to appreciate you all.
