Eating out last weekend slowed down my progress a bit, but I've been good with food and exercise since then. I'm tracking food and activity via my Fitbit app, and I've been staying at right around 1200 calories per day (low carb, lots of fresh veggies). I'm not very tall, so I think this is an ok calorie level for me. I feel fine in terms of energy and I'm not constantly hungry or anything like that.
I think it's paying off as I was down slightly below 166 this morning. I'll weigh in tomorrow.
Spring has finally arrived here and it is so beautiful outside! I had a couple of nice long walks with the dog today. We both enjoyed the sunshine.

This weekend we went out to dinner two nights in a row (once with a visitor, once when we were traveling), which is not ideal for weight loss. I did very well with food for the rest of the day on those days, and tried to make relatively good choices at the restaurants, but I think I'm up about 1/2 a pound. Time to look ahead and focus on good food and exercise choices this week!

Had a very good exercise day yesterday with over 22,000 steps (8.5 miles) and 130 active minutes. Most of that was playing indoor soccer last night. I'm muscle sore today, which is fine, and I will have a more restrul day and drink lots of water today. Thankfully there isn't new snow so I won't have to do an hour of shoveling! :)
Scale tipped down this morning. Hopefully that isn't just being dehydrated or something and I'll be able to keep the weight off. Non scale victory (NSV) last night, I was very hungry after soccer and really wanted something sweet and high carb, like cereal or a treat. Instead I had some plain yogurt with almond slices and a teaspoon of cocoa powder. It was a delicious crunchy and chocolatey treat with no sugar and still low carb.

We got about 8 inches of snow last night. Schools are closed and our little city is essentially shut down. Teddy and I shoveled for about an hour to clear our sidewalks (we live on a corner) as well as our neighbors' sidewalks (also a corner lot) because they are away for the winter. Then we ran around for 30 minutes with our crazy beagle who was very excited to bound through snow banks that came up to her chest. Whew! My fitbit said I'd reached 10,000 steps well before noon.
After having a big salad for lunch I rewarded myself with four dark chocolate covered almonds. They were so rich and delicious. After a month on this low carb, essentially no sugar diet these seemed like an incredibly decadent treat!

Today marks one month since I (re)started my weight loss journey and I'm happy to say I'm down 11 pounds! I still have a long way to go, but I'm feeling good about the process. I miss breads and the occasional drink, and hopefully I'll get to a point where I feel like I can have that again, but otherwise I feel like I am eating really well. Running is also getting easier. Yesterday I went for a 45 minute run (walked for 5 minutes in the middle of that) and I felt great afterwards. Thanks all for your support on this process. This community helps me a lot.
