Note to self
Interesting observation over the past couple of months monitoring my eating habits and caloric intake. I found that I will generally maintain my current weight if I starve myself and eat less than 1000 calories a day. But if I eat 1500 to 2000 I can usually expect to lose. My recommended calories is 2800 for weight loss. In both cases I am doing the same amount of cardio and strength training. I have lost about 25 pounds since January 1st and don't feel I have deprived myself of too much. The key for me has been eliminating as much processed sugar as possible, not eating after 7:00pm and increasing my daily activity level via riding bike, jogging, calisthenics. I just read where strength training has more benefits than previously thought as it causes your body to burn more calories long after the workout is done. Also, eating raw carrots and red or green peppers is a good snack at night and a great way to burn calories as it creates heat which burns the calories. Cool stuff. Only 20 pounds to go.
