It's getting pretty frustrating, I'm not cleared by my doctors to diet or exercise (more than walking for 30 min-5x/wk). Hoping my bloodwork will show my iron levels are up and they can switch my medication. The tamoxifen is causing pain and weight gain....it's driving me CRAZY!!!
When I'm on arimidex, I should start to lose weight. I know it's up to me as to what and how much goes in ...

In the past 12 months ...
My mother, cousin and I have battled breast cancer and won. It's been quite a journey. I've not been allowed to "diet" or try in any way to lose weight or even exercise. Energy is still running low, but recovery is going well. I'm anemic, receiving monthly injections of Lupron ($600 each for 6 months) and waiting to be taken off Tamoxifen and put on Arimidex. I'm also starting herbal treatments for menopause today.
My oncologist has cleared me to walk 30 minutes/day, 5 days a week...no more, no less - unless I develop blood clots. ((Did I mention that I've gained 15# since March 1st due to the Tamoxifen?!!!?))
I have 6 months until I can have my second surgery (and stop the injections). I want to use this time to lose as much weight as I can. So I'm taking a break from Facebook and focusing on my health, family, education and gardens.

Awaiting another procedure and the results of genetic testing. The cancer was "highly aggressive in nature."
I'm still not allowed by my doctors to diet (to lose weight) or exercise. It's not been easy, but the fatigue is making it a reality.

I have been diagnosed with breast cancer. It's been a tough few months. My mother (80) is now cancer free ... and I am not.
Partial mastectomy with reconstruction and reduction surgeries along with a sentinel lymph node removal are scheduled for Monday 29 October 2012.
I've spent the last 2 months harvesting the gardens, canning and freezing, and getting my house in order for the winter.
Some days are good, some are not so good.
My oldest daughter (15) has finally, after 14 months, been diagnosed with pneumonia. Thank God for a new doctor!!! She's just finished a z-pack and is doing INCREDIBLY well.
I can't guarantee I'll be checking in too often as I haven't been feeling well and they are planning on using some wicked nasty medications. Please be praying for me and my family.

I know it's been a while ... I have no excuses ... just life.
My dad turned 82, my mom turned 80 and was diagnosed with breast cancer. She is now cancer free --- THANK YOU, JESUS!!! --- but the past 2 months have been surreal. My daughter has an enlarged spleen and has been running a fever, chills, severe nausea and pain for the past 4 months. My son moved downstate and has yet to find work. And my husband has been laid off since the first week of January.
It's time for me to take control!
I can only do so much --- and I'm not effective if I'm not taking care of myself and my health.
