Was 257 before TG 246 this morning. Don't suggest my diet though, renal failure is a bitch, most days I have to take med for nausea and force myself to eat. Frig. & Pantry stocked with healthy foods and haven't had an appetite all month! My weight goes up & down 5-10 lbs. thru the day so don't pay any attention to it until I weigh in at the weight I was a year ago before this merry-go-round started; 180lbs. I've lost 80lbs in 3 months & doc thinks there's still 30-50 lbs. water weight yet to shed! I can breath now, I'm a demon in the wheelchair, told my grand kids it was my Hot Wheels & raced them! Got to keep a positive attitude! See a Neurosurgeon Dec.3, to see if there's anything he can do to fix my back so I can walk again..on this I'm being real & not holding my breath; but still gotta try.

I don't want to lose that record low weight so I'm not going to enter my new weigh. So much has gone wrong since I was last here...A little over a year ago my doctor prescribed Lamictal for nerve pain in my back. I reacted badly to it and got Stevens Johnson's Syndrome so forget the nerve pain, I'm lucky to be alive! However steroids where part of the treatment in overcoming those reactions so pack on the pounds. Next they tried Cymbalta and I got Serotonin Syndrome...treatment was an antihistamine that cause weight gain...fun times! Next the kidneys start to fail to the point of Congestive Heart Failure...pack on a lot of pounds! At one point I was 280lbs. and could not breath if I moved, I really didn't think I was going to live for a few weeks there.
So! As I write today I'm no longer chasing grandchildren around the yard...I'm wheelchair bound. Standing longer than five minutes makes me feel as if I'm going to break in half. I had another MRI last week so don't know what the suggestion will be however I know I'm not a surgical candidate therefore; they'll have to do whatever with injections, if anything can be done. Yes, I am depressed, tell me you could go thru this and not be.
The bright side is I'm using a manual wheelchair so I can at least keep my upper body; I'm getting rid of those "granny flab" upper arms. I'm been on 240mg of Lasix since 9/1/15 to keep the kidneys pumping so at least no water weight; this is all chunky monkey here and what the grand old drugs accomplished...today I weigh 250 lbs.
I will record my weight as journal entries now until I see that 180lbs. again!

The tide turned for me once I was put on Metformin for insulin resistance. I've followed a diabetic diet for years but never lost weight until the medication was added. Now it's a slow, sure & steady lost, 80 lbs so far. Everything in moderation.
