losing 0.6 lb a week

Okay, so I finally entered my weight. It's been so frustrating to watch the scale go up even though I'm watching what I eat, portion sizes, water intake and exercise.
Two days ago I started having heart palpitations, which of course freaked me out. So I got out the blood pressure machine, took some readings and went online to see what I could find.
Turns out my suspicions about my thyroid seem to be spot on. The pain in my hips and other joints, the inability to lose weight even though I'm working at it, the heart palpitations, even the excessive sweating (I've had to start using the clinical strength anti-persperant) are all symptoms of hypothyroid problems!
At least now I feel like I can go back out and run, and that I won't be doing any damage to my body.
And now, it's just a matter of time - until January 3 - when I go see my doctor. I have the blood test scheduled a week before and asked that my thyroid be checked, so when I see him we'll already have that done.
Finally, some answers!
And, I downloaded an app called Endomondo into my blackberry. It's a GPS program that tracks workouts. I think you have to be outside, haven't heard back on that questions. I was looking for a pedometer type app to measure how many steps I take in a day. I don't think this will work for that, but I'll give it a try for my next run and compare it to my Nike+ Sensor.

when I was running I was using the Nike+ sensor and liked it. But since I haven't been running, waiting to see if my hip will stop hurting, I of course haven't used it.
So I thought in the meantime I would use my pedometer to keep track of how many steps I took during the day. Problem is, they're not very accurate.
Today I found a new app for my Blackberry, Endomondo. It uses GPS to track distance, I just don't know if it will track walking, indoors. I sent the question to their help desk.
I'm doing all this so when I go see my doctor next month I can say - See? I'm doing all this... and show him my tracking... and still I'm not loseing weight. Do I hope it's my thyroid and he'll somehow beable to tweak it into working? Only if the result is me dropping 25 pounds!

Today I worked out! Did my weight routine for back exercises. I feel good!
And, I made my dreaded doctors appointment, along with the blood tests and mammogram. Lovely. I knew he'd ask for those to be done, so I'm getting them done before the actual appointment. The appointment is Jan 3, so I'm starting the new year off by taking care of myself!
Since I'm asking for my thyroid to be checked, because #1: I can't seem to lose weight no matter what I do, and #2: the way I carry my extra weight shouts "THYROID!" I thought I would spend the month of December really really trying to lose weight.
The last time I really really worked at it, but exercising every day (alternating between running and weights) and watched what I ate, after 3 months I had lost 5 pounds. BUT, I had also lost inches. Not sure how many because I wasn't keeping track, but I know I shrunk because of the way my clothes fit.
So today, I measured. All the measurements add up to 311. I figure if I can lose any inches this month, regardless of the weight, I'm still going in the right direction.
And, if I'm really really working at it and I get minimal results, then at least I have that to add to the possible problem of thyroid issues. Right?
