Vacation was not kind to me. I hoped that all the walking we did would outweigh all the pizza and beer, but apparently not. Back at the diet dull force this week. 2 miles on the treadmill last night!

I have such a hard time making myself enter my food. And I really have no excuses. I spend time on the computer playing on Facebook and ignore my fatsecret entries because I don't want to face up to what I have eaten. I think part of me is afraid to know what my actual caloric intake is, even thought I still feel like I've been doing pretty well following my self-made diet. I was snowed in a few days at Rick's house, which is always a challenge. He cooks mostly red meat, with lots of butter and sauces and potatoes and yummy breads. I made a huge salad and ate on it for several days. I haven't been doing as well as I would like, but I did do 2 miles on the treadmill today! And I'm still moving down the scale, even a little at a time.

Last night I had a real test of willpower. My brother, in his continuing support of my diet, ordered pizza! I went in my bedroom and waited until it was all eaten and then came in the kitchen and made veggie burritos. I am SO proud of myself for resisting the urge to eat that pizza!! And I was rewarded when I stepped on the scale this morning! Hooray!

Sigh...I'm already getting frustrated with my lack of will power. I'm still doing pretty well keeping up with my diet plan. It much harder than I though it would be to keep my fat intake around 40 g, but I'm doing well with the calorie counting. I've been having grapes, pretzels and honey nut cheerios for snacks. They satisfy my munchie craving without taking up too many calories or fat grams. I also took advantage of a new buddy's suggestion to try snack size chocolates. I bought a pack of fun size snickers and found that the little bar satisfied my craving for a desert and wasn't terribly high in fat.
But, I've only been on the treadmill one day this week. This has always been the hardest part of losing weight. I really think I need to try and get my exercise done as soon as I walk in the door from work. I can't ever get up early enough to exercise and if I wait until after dinner, I feel lethargic and can't get motivated to get up off the couch. I'm trying not to beat myself up over not following my exercise plan exactly. I'm trying to remember that this is a lengthy process and a lifestyle change and I can't expect to make all of these changes overnight. So, on the bright side, giving myself a pat on the back for continuing to eat lots of fruits and vegetables and keeping the calories low!
