I am 43 years old and have been gaining over a good 40 lbs since my 30's.After unsuccessfully participating in Weight Watchers,I was getting quite frustrated when I continued to gain weight. Unfortunately my Leader had no real explanation for me and blamed it on my metabolism.

My husband fully supports my weightloss goals and decided to go on a diet with me. It gave him the motivation to do something abou his weight as well and he started searching around on his phone, eventually finding an app for "fatsecret". He downloaded it and got hooked on it.

This in turn got me involved with "fatsecret" and I have currently dropped my Weight Watchers and switched totally to this weightloss program. While one can't follow the calories burned schedule to the "T", it does give a pretty good idea of how much you approximately burn in certain activities each day. Too many times do we forget that our activities at work also burn calories, so I am thankful this includes a category like "Desk Work" (convenient for all us office workers ;-)) An absolute great tool is the barcode scanner. It does all the work for me and I love it!

I am currently down from 172 lbs and my goal is to get somewhere between 145 and 150. My husbands goal is to get down to 245 lbs, so we are in for the long haul ;-).

Once you get used to counting calories, it's not that hard to follow and it can become the lifestyle that so many of us really need.
