Lucybell33's Journal, 04 February 2008

Sometimes, I just don't understand how this whole weight loss process works! I stick pretty much 100% to my plan Monday-Friday, only to gain 0.5lb. Then, I relax a bit over the weekend, drinking plenty of wine, and even having a cheese toastie rather than my Slim Fast soup for tea last night - and today I'm down 2lb! ??? Not complaining at all, of course! I only need a 0.5lb loss this week to get me to my next 0.5 stone goal - making 3.5 stone in total - and I'm looking forward to booking in that next beauty treat, hopefully all ready for Valentines!!

Now, tonight sees the the debut of Treat Night. I've introduced this for the sake of my husband, who is incredibly supportive, but also understandably getting a little bit fed up of it all after almost seven months! Bear in mind that I'm now the lightest I've been since he's known me, so he doesn't even think I need to lose any more weight. He eats exactly the same evening meal as me (albeit I give him a bit more than half), and just wants something a bit naughty every now and again. So, to remove the fairly downcast look I get every time I say no to his request to order pizza (and these come fairly regularly!), I've come up with a deal for him - on each wedding monthiverary (if that's not a real word, it should be!), he gets to choose what we have for dinner! Now, this will almost inevitably mean we'll be having Domino's pizza most months, but that the deal... I'll stick to the plan 100% during the day, and hopefully Treat Night won't do too much damage.

Hope everyone had a great weekend, and is all set for a good week of weight loss! :)

Woohoo... we knew that it would drop off there eventually, so I'm glad to see it has for you to today. Now it's me that's needs to catch up! Hmm... this losing malarky is sure weird sometimes - but guess the saying we need to eat to lose holds true. I've read before that the body needs a certain amount of calories to be able to do that, otherwise sometimes it thinks it's gone into starvation mode... even though we are feeding it! Alas, that's the only explanation that I can come up with here... but woohoo... down another 2lbs, so that's fantastic!! :o)

Thank you all for your support! The inaugural Treat Night was a great success. I stuck to my plan 100% all day, and even fitted in a quick cardio DVD whilst my little boy had his nap. We had Domino's pizza, which I have to say was delicious, but because I'd stuck to it all day, I still didn't go over my calories burned, so no damage done!! Strawberrylovepie - I'm pretty amazed myself that I've managed to lose so much! Having given it some thought I'd say there are a few things that have been vital along the way. First and foremost, I found something I enjoyed doing enough to stick for the long haul. Second, I have allowed myself a few treats along the way, but if I have a naughty day (or two), I just put them behind me and get straight back on track, and don't allow any long-term damage to result. Thirdly, I found Fatsecret, which is a fantastic source of support and inspiration!!

Once a month is reasonable! You can have a thin crust pizza with veggies and chicken on yours to liten the load, too! :0) Ya gotta give 'em some slack once in a while, I know! LOL Keep on KICKIN' BUTT!!

You continue to be an inspiration! I know what you mean about sticking with it and not losing, then all of a sudden, after eating pie or something crazy, lose 2 lbs! Maybe it's kind of like stoking the furnace, you need some energy to be able to burn fat? Anyway, well done on your continued success.
