Gaining slowly but being pregnant I know I need to...it's hard to get used to after trying to lose and get back on track...

Have you had a chance to talk with your doctor about diet yet? Am sure your focus is on eating healthy and keeping your blood sugar level low. You have plenty of time to lose after the baby is born.

I agree with buffybear you should talk to your doctor about your diet. It is important to eat healthy while pregnant (Congratulations btw!) however it is not necessary to overeat. When I was pregnant with my second child I was overweight about 215. I talked to my doctor about my diet- by diet I mean what I eat not "a diet". At 9 months I weighed about 225 for a total gain of only 10 lbs. I had a beautiful, healthy, 9lb 5oz boy. So I really recommend talking to your doctor about what is best for you!

I have an appointment scheduled already and yes I have been eating healthy not just gorging myself with everything in sight. My last overweight pregnancy went just fine. I am not worried about dieting I am smart enough to know what healthy foods are and what I need to be eating.

Congrats on the baby news! Eating healthy for your baby is the right thing to do, for both of you. And it's great that you're staying focused on it. Staying on here throughout will help you with that too. Even if you're posting gains you'll still have the support to not throw in the towel and eat everything with the "I'm pregnant" excuse. Good for you for keeping your eye on it. Healthy baby first... weight loss second!

With my daughter's first child she was overweight at the very beginning, starting at about 230. But, with her doctor's careful supervision, she did not gain any additional weight during the pregnancy and due to breastfeeding actually lost another 20+ lbs after the baby was born for a total loss of almost 40 lbs! Naturally and without dieting, just maintaining a healthy amount. You could say having her first child was actually her first ever successful weight loss program!
