Well this weekend I gained 6 lbs! I didn't even think that was possible! Granted I was terrible..I ate 3 cupcakes, 2 other desserts and 3 doughnuts (I agreed to get my sugar fill without thinking for the last 3 months after having 3 green beers and 2 bloody marys on Saint Patty's...which was already terrible). And I anticipated that I would be paying for this mistake by a couple of lbs, but when I stepped on the scale I was 6 lbs heavier than on Friday! I mean if all it takes is one even horrible day to throw me off this much I am just about ready to give up.
163.2 lb Lost so far: 10.8 lb.    Still to go: 33.2 lb.    Diet followed reasonably well.

I just read your post and I completely understand how you feel. I've had weekends like that as well. I usually don't weigh myself until tuesday or Wednesday if I've eaten a lot of salty things or had beer because they make you retain water and then your weight is artificially high. If you get back on your food plan and follow it pretty strictly, you'll probably see almost all the St. Patty's weight gone in a week. Definitely don't give up...just put the bad weekend behind you. The other thing is if you were working out pretty hard before the weekend, you could have been a little dehydrated which will give you a weight that's really too low due to lack of hydration. That, coupled with a beer and dessert-filled St. Patty's weekend could help explain the 6# difference. What the heck...St. Patty's day is fun...just try to get back on track now.
