Tuesday, 7/4/17, Steps = 16,515

Really surprised by the good weight loss 2 weeks in a row. The only thing I can attribute to this unexpected success is a slight change in diet and a ton of water. I have eaten almost the same thing every day since January. Lately, I am getting tired of the protein shakes so I have been drinking the shakes on weight lifting days (M,W,F) and substituting other food on my non-gym days. I have been craving oatmeal and soft boiled eggs, in addition to grapes and fresh pineapple. Maybe mixing up the food a bit has helped my metabolism. I'm still sticking to around 1,100 to 1,200 calories regardless of what I eat.

Another benefit of this last week is that we had a completely normal schedule. We did not go out to dinner, have guests, etc. It's so much easier to focus on healthy eating when you can do your own thing and not worry about others.

In the next week or two, I will probably reach my initial goal. According to the official BMI chart, I will no longer be overweight. My weight will be considered at the very top of 'Normal'. However, I then will need to decide on my final goal. I don't have a big frame and know I should weigh less. I think I will aim for a loss of 10 more pounds but that may be too hard. I'm not sure... One step at a time.

Happy to see you are in the "blue"! You'll have to see what feels right as you get used to your new smaller self. My Doctor suggested that being at the upper end of normal or even in the lower part of over-weight is reasonable. One reason is that we need some weight to counter-act osteoporosis as we get older. Maybe your Doctor can offer an opinion at your next appointment.

Thanks! I see the doctor at the end of the month. I'm definitely going to ask her opinion. I sure hope some of my numbers have improved since January!
