Ate loads of the kids junk left from Christmas and felt ROTTEN! Took myself to bed early and have woken up determined to do better. It's up to me, and only I can do it

Hey, just wanted to encourage you to hang in there! First off, I don't see your 2 lb gain on your weight history. Each weigh in shows a loss. And your food calendars do not have your "mad" session of junk left from Christmas! The very best was to use the food tracker is to look back at it days or weeks later, and see where you were... and were not... losing or gaining etc. And WHY? Your food choices overall look really good. So if you can drink your water, and push thru and get rid of the 'sugar cravings' over the next couple of days you'll be back on the right road. There will be occasionally fluctuations, no matter what you do, so be prepared for that. Just keep yourself strictly adhered to Induction Foods only, drink your water, eat plenty of veggies from that list, healthy fats, etc... and watch your overall sodium (like ham) which can easily send it soaring. (water retention.) It's ok once in awhile, and it will leave the next day w/ continuing to drink daily, but you don't want to live with it up in the 3-4000mg range. Personally, I am kinda glad you did this early, and got it out of the way. Now you know how lousy overeating sugar really makes you feel. Unless you want to feel ROTTEN - now is the time to make some changes! YOU can do this... you're absolutely right, it's up to you!

Just stick with it, the first time I started Atkins my weight loss went very so and I got discouraged. I decided to give it another try and the best way that I found is not to miss meals eat small ones and keep an eye on your calorie intake. Most important is to be honest about what you are eating. It can be tough at times but with a little patience you will find what works for your body as far as your food intake. And most important is to only eat until satisfied not full. You can do it!

Thanks so much for your comments. Very much appreciated, and a good tip about ham - I do eat that quite a bit. I was so horrified with what I had eaten, I couldn't face writing it all down in my diary - needless to say it was well out of the range of induction foods. I will go back and post my weight gain though. Thank you so much - I will think of your support next time I have cravings and I am sure they will help me to battle my negative influences.
