Im so disappointed in myself. I weighted in this past Thursday and had gained 11 or the 13 pounds I lost. Reason being I ate out at Red Lobster and didn't count my calories and I went down hill from there for the rest of the week. This past Thursday was also the beginning of a new week. I'm going to just start anew. Last week was a bad week but I'm dusting myself off and picking up where I left off.
281.0 lb Lost so far: 2.0 lb.    Still to go: 83.0 lb.    Diet followed reasonably well.
gaining 9.6 lb a week

There is no way you gained(or dropped) 11lbs of fat in 1 week unless you ate 11x3500 = 38,500 extra calories. Whats happening is you dropped water weight initially going into a deficit, and you regained the water weight leaving the deficit. Gotta remember that weight loss is not fat loss. Actual fat loss or fat gain is a much slower proccess.

Regardless if it was water weight or fat weight. Its still weight. Sometimes encouraging words is all that's needed not a educational lecture, but thanks anyway @somuchbs. @topher2112 thanks for the words of support its greatly appreciated.

Dragging out the "it's just water weight" canard is a favorite line of attack for people that oppose low-carb, don't put any stock into it, because like you said, weight is weight. Fat loss and water loss aren't mutually exclusive, regardless of diet, bouncing right back from a setback is what's important.

Unless she plans on eating low carb for life..... Counting water weight as weight loss or gain and then getting happy or sad about it is a bit silly. It's just noise that needs to be filtered out of the real loss which is fat. Just in this example we've got 22lbs of noise fluctuations, and 2 lbs of actual loss. Gj on your fat loss

Water weight constantly fluctuates, regardless of diet, part of the reason not to fixate on the scale. Nothing wrong with low carb for life, and really that should be the goal, a permanent change of lifestyle.

@Phil thanks also for the encouragement. I have picked up where I left off at with my diet and exercise. @SoMuchBS What is silly is you going back and fourth with me on a weight lost site. You've been up here for months trying to lost 10lbs. I don't see health wellness or coach by your name, sweep around your own door first before you sweep away someone else's. From now on when you see my post just keep your comments to yourself because it seems as if you have some issues within yourself to consistently go back and fourth with someone over actually weight or water weight. That is why your screen name is SOMuchBS because that's what you are full of BS. This site is suppose to help people and encourage people. I thanked for you for the lecture you gave and you came back with smart remarks. Lose your 10lbs first and keep it off before being the expert of the year. If this continues I will report you to the site. Thanks and enjoy your life.
