I have been thinking about the HCG lately.
During the past few months I have missed taking it for several days in a row and I was able to keep on program without much problem.

I wonder if taking the HCG is a placebo that just gives you permission on a subconscious level to lose weight. Heaven knows it has worked for me like nothing before in my life but maybe juuust maybe I had it in me all the time and it was just buried under all my issues and baggage?

I cleaned the decades of fat clothes buried in my closet this morning. It was at least a 55 gallon drum of clothes, some of which i bet I only wore once or twice.

Well off to good will to drop it all off and in the mean time I will stick with the placebo and be grateful.

You may be on to something! At the very least, it has been demonstrated on The Biggest Loser that when contestants shed some old guilt or pain their weight tends to take an extra drop. I've given some thought to how our body image can "stick" to us, making it hard to envision being slim if you've been overweight a long time. The weight loss trip is more than just shedding pounds.

I'm not sure either, but it does work for me. I do a spray HCG at $80/round so placebo or not, it's not breaking the bank and I do lose the weight. It's easier for me not to eat certain foods and be strict as opposed to trying that moderation thing. I do have to keep this weight off though.....

I think you are right Steve. The FDA website notes, "HCG products marketed as weight loss aids are unproven and illegal. Many HCG products are marketed to be taken in connection with a very low calorie diet -- it's the decrease in calories that accounts for any weight loss. FDA-approved uses for prescription HCG products include female fertility and select hormonal treatment in males, and FDA has not approved prescription HCG for any other uses, including weight loss."
