Well ... I have reached the top of my range ... once again. I shouldn't be surprised as I certainly did enjoy myself with delectable treats I would not typically eat for the past two days. Yes. I do know what to do and I will do that today, Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday, and most of Thursday until we go out for New Years ... and hopefully I'll bring it down a few pounds so that I will reach my goal of being no more than 185 at the beginning of the new year. Even if I don't reach that goal I MUST remember that I am still on the right path. I MUST remember that I will NEVER "arrive." I MUST remember all the progress I have made this past year and celebrate it.

So ... I'm fighting the after holiday "funk" and the "I knew it would happen but secretly hoped it would not" thought about the gain. I'm doing okay with it I think. I just have to keep the positive thoughts, the realistic ones going and fight that black dog on my shoulder that tries to drag me down!! LOL!!

Today is laundry, dump run, pick up a few things at the market day. I wish I had two more days off work but at least the week will be short. If only I'd win that lottery!!! LOL!!! Then I'm sure I'd find something else to fuss about ... but at least it would be a different tune, right? Oh, okay, I'd still fuss about the ups and downs of weight ... I'd still me the same person ... just with fewer bills and more financial resources!!

So ... who here will join me in pulling ourselves back on track? Are you with me??? I know you are!!!

My five for today ....

1. the pleasure of enjoying foods I don't eat all the time
2. dealing with the consequences of eating food I don't always enjoy without feeling I have "failed"
3. blue skies and sunshine even though it is quite chilly outside
4. not putting out too many holiday decorations means I have less to put away!!
5. realizing that bad dreams are not real ... they are just bad dreams

Have a stupendous Sunday ... let's bring in this new year with kindness and gentleness towards ourselves ... it will grow if we simply continue to practice it.

LOL! Now why does that look so familiar? It just proves that we are all the same. How many times have I been at the upper part of my range, 1000? As a consolation, you know that a single low day will probably bring you right back down. You don't have to sacrifice from today until Thursday (best not to commit in this way). You know I'm with you all the way kiddo! ;-)

Thank you Info!!! YUP ... quite familiar indeed. No sacrificing on the agenda ... hubby already scolded me about that!! Just right back on track, counting calories and being conscious. Those "uncounted" bites of this and that add up!!! Thanks for your support ... I KNEW I could count on you!!

LOL Info!!! I purposely put on my "small" jeans yesterday to remind myself that although the scale was up I hadn't really put on a bunch of fat ... and they did still "buckle up" quite comfortably I might add!!! Maybe I should wear them again today???

Yes wear them again and when you do remember what your husband told you. You have been doing great! It is so hard during the holidays to stick to it. It sounds like you enjoyed the holiday so now just try to get back on track and don't look back or get down on yourself. Food is a big part of celebrations and we all need to celebrate and enjoy!

Cathy you are so right!! And I did enjoy myself. And I know that I can put on 5 "pounds", so to speak, without trying very hard. A lot of that is really just an illusion. Just the way my body works!! Thanks for the cheering on!!

Moose I'm with you too! I've learned that whatever choice I made, the most important was to accept the consequences. this is not about good or bad, this is only about how we react to any situation. you had so much fun during this holiday! now it's time to go back to a normal diet, no regrets, no guilt... just keep going!

Carol, we all secretly hope it will not happen, but it does. But you will get it off again. You enjoyed your holidays and it is over now. Ahhhhhh! So back to business for both of us. :-)

lol @ info, ay moose we did it again didn't we? but the key is holiday and it was planned! we do have much to celebrate plus we know how to fix this stuff. Oh I hope the funk didn't get to you! (mr c is the only crap i'm bummed about -but im working on it!) lol anyways with all the chores you have today -sounds like you will burn those extra calories right away
