Hi there Anderlamb! You sound to be where all of us have been from time-to-time :) Have you done Atkins before? I just ask because there are some really good groups you can belong to here on Fatsecret which will be a great help. Also, you may experience some withdrawal type symptoms to begin with depending upon what your diet has been like up to the present - but these fade pretty quickly. I don't know what age group you are in but I am 65 y.o. and have been following a low carb routine now for a couple of years and I have to say for the most part I feel so much better. The carb aspect of eating such as grains etc really upset me and I am aware now that I don't eat any just how much they affected my everyday existence. I am sure that you will get lots more encouragement here from others when they read your journal :) Good luck and keep posting so that others may help!

Every journey begins with one step and like astra46 says we have to take the first step. Once you start dropping the weight and gain energy you will feel better. This will also help you stay the course. Hang in there! I too start my Atkins Introduction Phase on this coming Monday. I am kind of nervous about the energy I will have or getting off the sugar. A nurse told me someone eating a lot of sugar can have withdrawals. However, I know that this is something I want for myself. Remember you are doing this for you and don't give up its one pound at a time.
