Starting week 4 of Induction. 18 lbs. lost, including the 6 I lost in the couple of months pre-Atkins.

Doing well this week. I managed to up my veggie intake almost to where it should be. I was worried I'd been eating a lot of nuts, maybe too many, but I'm seeing weight loss and I prefer the lower carb nuts, so I think I'm still doing well. I tried an Atkins Cookbook recipe tonight. I tweaked it a little-- very tasty!

I was going to complain about the fact that the people who have been giving me the most grief about my weight (other than my own mother)-- my future in-laws-- haven't commented on how I look (not much slimmer, but some) or asked me how I'm doing on the diet (borrowing their books to do it so they know I'm on it) except just yesterday his grandmother told me she could tell I was losing weight and congratulated me when I told her how much. They've also been nice, aside from that first meal of barbecue ribs, about being careful to serve Atkins-friendly meals the days on which we visit. My future mother-in-law even bought me low carb Splenda-sweetened ice cream bars. At 9 g net carbs though, I don't think. I'll be eating another one of those during Induction again.

I have a wedding to go to this week--including traveling across the country. I had planned on letting myself have a piece of cake, but now may not. Perhaps just a small one.

You are doing fantastic!!!!! About the wedding cake--it sounds like YOU are in control now, not the cake--a great place to be.
