Interesting how many people I know are doing Dry January. I’m not, but I probably won’t drink anything unless I go out, so it is a non-event for me. Yesterday was kind of awesome, I ran into an old friend at work in a virtual sense and we ended up talking on the phone for almost an hour. Takeaway, enjoy your “good old days” here and now instead of waiting for them to be the good old days. It was a nice reminder of how fun things used to be and still can with the right attitude. I guess this is one of the things we all lose working from home all the time. On the other hand, neither of us would still be there if we had to work in the old office, so there’s that.

Dogs are on a crazy tear this morning, it’s chilly enough that i can see my breath right now and I’m in the back room, not outside. I’m also wearing shorts. I’m going to row in a few minutes, and I prefer skin exposure when I’m sweating. It works for me. I may wear a bandana to prevent coughing, but that’s all the high tech equipment that I use.

Car is still in the shop because we towed it there without a lot of warning and they’re busy. It’s a relay, so I do not need a new battery on top of the repair. Not a big deal, I can walk to anything I need within a mile or so. I would like to know why my SF cough drops are on backorder, there’s not a whole lot of stuff I’m crazy specific about, but I hate sugar cough drops because they make my teeth fuzzy. Sorry if that grosses anyone out, but it grosses me out so sharing the ickiness.

No walk last night, was talking with BF and suddenly it was pretty late, so i just did a little row. I’m going to see if i can drag the stationary bike out of my office by myself and will put for sale on NextDoor for someone else’s resolutions. I just don’t love it the way i do my other machines and I can use that space.

Blob way up, due to pizza pizza! Gonna chase that blob in 3-2-1!

I’ll do the Daniel’s fast, starting on Monday 8th. It will be my 4th year in a row. I hope to reap the same benefits as the previous years in unhooking myself from the little bad habits that have crept in during the year, particularly Christmas.

I drink rarely. Since I didn't have egg nog during the holiday so no brandy or rum I got through the holidays without drinking. When I made a roast I opened a bottle of rec wine to marinate it with. Then spent at least a week finishing the bottle. I worked from home 2 or 3 days a week for my last job. But I really prefer "going to work". Most of my friends are people I worked with and I enjoyed going out to lunch, etc when I was wkrking.

Hi Eva! I remember setting up the Daniel Fast challenge in January 2020. I've thought about doing it again but remember it was so, so hard to stick to. But I did and I think I lost 7 or 8 pounds in the 20 or 21 days of the challenge!

You are both far stronger willed than I am. I’m doing some little personal challenges, but none of them really relate to FS, so i don’t post about them. But props to you both!

Thanks Kat, not I don't think I am strong willed. Sometimes I can be for awhile but eventually go back to bad habits. Hoping to change that!

FWIW, sk, seems to be a rash of winter on the West Coast that you’re missing out on, so maybe NJ isn’t so bad?

Im glad you were able to connect with an old friend. I miss talking to old friends! I will say social media was instrumental in helping to organize a 10 girls only mini reunion for my Highschool besties. We all met here in Vegas and had a blast! So much fun catching up.
