Couple of different things going on here. New smart scale, it has a bigger footprint and i think I need to find a place to house it permanently rather than pulling it out from under the dresser each morning because I think it will be safer for it given the large dog chaos that inhabits my mornings. Going to be an interesting task in a bungalow. There’s just not a lot of that type of space.

Stayed up until almost 2 finishing up a “due COB” task for work last night after the whole tooth procedure, so didn’t start until late. I have a lot of thoughts to process here and they’re not for public consumption. I didn’t binge or anything like that, but I did eat dinner around 10PM and had a couple extra bites in the early morning as I was finally feeling more normal as far as my mouth after the novocaine. I’m also dealing with some mouth feel issues with the new crown and trying not to make myself insane. If that’s TMI, i apologize. As far as food, it was nothing earth shattering and I will log it this morning since it was well past midnight. Hoping this late night nonsense is almost over.

I did walk twice yesterday. It was creepy foggy all day and got even worse after dark, but I did do a little over a mile after dark with many, many lights on the dogs and myself for visibility. Very few people out and if I hadn’t spent three whole hours in a chair, i would have skipped it altogether. Pretty cool pic of the marine layer rolling in from the ocean. Was telling a friend it’s like that moment when Gojira (Godzilla) or some other giant creature emerges from the sea. You can see how it consumed the radio tower in the second pic.

Discovered that I do still absolutely loathe traffic and i wasn’t even out in the worst of it. I sat deep in the fog bank up in La Jolla, but I also got to watch it rolling down the hill onto the freeway which I do kinda miss from the office days.

So anyways, new baseline with some extra fat and water. Tomorrow should be more normal and I think I can eat both salad and chew protein today. Yay!

Work still busy, have a headache and am in a mood. Will try and keep my thoughts in check for the day. Press on, press on. Can anyone tell me when I will get used to this new “tooth” they put in? Dentist told me to wait a week.

1981 version was rad. I loved the owl.

Yes, “Release the Kraken!!!” 🌊🌊🦑🌊🌊 I can only work with what they give us. 🙃

Kat, if you circulate a petition to add the Kraken to the list of otherwise lame emojis, I will sign it faster than you can say, 'Bubo.'

Last time I had an appointment were in SD area the fog was crazy. Driving to La Jolla from CV was crazy. Visibility was not good. Must've been interesting walking in the "thick" of the fog at night!

First, the crown. I have several crowns and they've always felt just like my regular teeth immediately. A crown should sit exactly like the tooth it replaces. If it doesn't, it's going to cause problems, one of which can be headaches.

Your new scale. I put my scale at the back end of my walk-in closet (clothes rods run along both sides). Out of the way but convenient & dogs wouldn't have access.

My house is 100 years old. It has amazing character, but they still used trunks over closets. Bathroom is about the same.

Tooth is better today. Just ate a ton of salad with no drama. I can still feel it there. The internets say this is normal. We shall see.

You got me thinking about houses. The house I grew up in was built right after WWII, in 1948, when I was five, so it's 75 years old. It was just a little bungalow, the demand was so high then, they were throwing them together as fast as they could. Two of the bedrooms had what could have been called walk-in closets, maybe 30 inches deep with rods on both sides. My grandparents' old house had no closets, they had "chifforobes" which had hanging space on one side and drawers on the other.
