Nine weeks on Atkins and still feeling good. Easter dinner went well yesterday. All I had was six small shrimp seasoned with garlic and cilantro, a couple of slices of ham, a small green salad (lettuce, green onions, and radishes), one very small dark chocolate egg (a cheat, I know), and one whole pecan from my husband's slice of pecan pie (which had a tiny bit of the pie filling on it). I drank nothing but water all day (except for the morning, when I had one mug of coffee with heavy cream and a packet of Splenda).

My focus is different this time around. I've gotten as low as 150 (a couple of years ago), but my focus then was only on weight loss and not on better health for the long term. I'm not going to stop eating the way I'm eating, even when I get to my goal weight, because I love how I feel, and I don't want to lose that. I've also learned to look at food as FUEL -- not entertainment, not comfort, not stress relief, just FUEL. I've learned to only eat when I'm hungry, and I've learned to "listen" to my body so I stop when I'm (comfortably) full. It's taken time to learn those things and to shift my focus. If I can do it, anyone can.
