Remembered to enter the weight first this morning. Down from yesterday, surprised at the split between the categories. Blob is down, but up over the past week and muscle is down as well. Now, i did eat dinner around 10PM last night (long story we’ll get to) and that may be part of it. Also had spaghetti two nights in a row and intend to have it again today, probably for lunch this time.

Swam yesterday, completely unremarkable except that i loathe cold water. But we’re going to continue with it. Long, long walk after. It’s close to Halloween and we had many things to do on our neighborhood meanderings.

Some numbers stuff. 894 strokes* 10.6 METs, average heart rate 142. Maybe i should cut myself a break on calling that unremarkable. I’m old, considered ancient, compared to today’s competitive swimmers, but I think I’ve reached a new baseline for my personal performance and I should own it. That said, the whole point is to get better and better and move forward in life. So 894 is now a “solid” swim and I have to work to do it. I can do better, I can and I will. I need more pool time. I’m going to try and stay above the work drama from last week and maybe just live my life outside of work.

Rowing has improved and I need to do better there as well. I’ve been treating it as a filler when I can’t walk or swim. I’ll start looking at those as a group rather than a one off to close my rings on a busy day. I do need to figure out what to do with the damper settings because it’s not an intuitive thing where you just move it to 10 to make it harder. On the walking, I’ve worked my average VO2 back up to close to where it used to be. I am still nursing some knee and ankle issues, but we’re good most days. I’m always taken back by how much more my legs hurt after walking when I’ve swam within a few hours prior. Therapy gun FTW there. Some great stuff on the walk last night and some completely bizarre stuff as well. Thinking of upgrading to a taser from my pepper spray but i need to see what i can even order in California. So ridiculous. Not going to stop walking. Some Halloween decorations around the neighborhood.

My logging anything beyond food this last week sucked. Will try and do better there. All part of staying mindful.

Need to do some mandatory adult stuff today. Thankfully all is doable within the house/yard/neighborhood and I have all the shopping done, so no more expenditures until the amazon sale where i need to pick up some exciting things like vacuum cleaner bags!

Great pictures! I got chilled to the core swimming this morning, took several hours for me to warm up. Work sounds slightly insane right now. Take care.
