I actually started South Beach yesterday and so far, so good. I really need to drop this weight. I gained it all pretty recently because after being laid off -- and stuck home -- I find myself watching too much tv and eating too much. I need to get my life back. I was beginning to feel really depressed and had no energy. I need to feel good again. I laugh about this now, but I started out a few weeks ago by trying the "Carb Lovers Diet" I actually gained two pounds. I know that once I drop the weight I can eat healthy carbs, but right now the best way to lose weight for me is cutting out the carbs. It's hard cause i love everything carb! Happy to find this site.

such a good outlook!!! I think cutting carbs is really the key! I've lost 27 lbs. since jan by using atkins, but gallbladder started giving me problems and had to quite. I am now choosing south beach because it seems to be the low fat version of atkins, and I like the fact that I can have beans on it :-) Good luck to you!!!
