I can't believe I lost 3 Lbs after all I ate last night when hunger set in. IF has been a game changer for me when nothing else worked or didn't work for long. The problem with CICO is that even though I was consuming less than 1300 kcals/ Day, exercising, and calculations estimated that over 2000 kcals to maintain 230 LBS, I still struggled to lose weight. It was like my body was in starvation mode, trying to hold on to everything I consumed.and I felt more hungry then. My body releases more water and fat when I only eat 1-2 meals per day,. I know because of the increased trips to the toilet and looser fitting clothes. IF more likely how our ancestors ate than frequent small meals because it could take them all day, even more than a day to hunt and bring food home, and they'd have to build a fire to cook meat as well.

I'm a believer now that IF resets hormones because I'm finally losing weight and enjoying the benefits of ketosis without having to adhere to keto restrictions. I'm less hungry with IF, and although I avoid processed food, I still eat from all food groups until I'm satisfied without worrying if I'm over my caloric limit. I think the water -broth fasting is also helping me recover from this cold because more energy can go to fighting this virus when my body doesn't have to also work on digesting and processing food. I haven't been working out while sick either.

That’s interesting. Thanks for posting as I have had questions about IF and whether I want to give it a try.

I trust Healthline.com because they reference their research that I find is spot on and are a wealth of health information, including about IF. There are also doctors that teach about it on YouTube. I like Dr. Mindy and Dr. Berg, but there are others too if you look up Intermittent Fasting.

...I should also put in a disclaimer that you shouldn't do IF if you have low blood sugars, gout, or a history of anorexia.

Tracking your salt intake and cutting it back drastically releases a lot of unwanted fluid from your body.

Nice drop! I've noticed the same thing about IF lately. I can eat more calories (roughly same macros) and actually still lose vs. a gain with more meals. I need to try a day of eating the exact same foods to further test this theory...lol. 🤓

Beverly Ruth, that's true that salt makes us retain water, but we also need to electrolytes for our organs to function. I drank broth when I became hungry because it prevents headaches that soon follow, and allowed me to fast as long as I have. Thank you Foody, Venus, and Lady.
