Katsolo's Journal, 12 August 2023

When the weight stays the same but the blob goes down to a new recent low, it’s a good day. I was able to squeeze in a couple of short walks yesterday in anticipation of going out and it seems to have worked. The experiment mixing up my macros a bit continues. Going grocery shopping today and will be sure to bring home more fish and other proteins since that was the most challenging area to hit goal on. I should probably go shopping in my freezer first.

A lot happened yesterday. Besides the smaller project, which had a COB deadline and got really complicated, Lili stole my good computer glasses and there are now teeth marks in the middle of the lenses. I have other pairs, so it will be fine, but annoying. They will be going to be re-lensed because i just got them in December.

Today is the first anniversary of losing Hogan. Still a really hard loss. Thinking about him still makes me cry. Just going to keep moving and get through the day. Guess the good part is that one of the hardest years of my life emotionally is behind me and we can all continue moving forward with the new pack.

Plans for the day: dog hair, dog hair, dog hair. Might need to have this one groomed professionally to remove the undercoat. SMH. Going to make sure i get at least a long walk, maybe we’ll go into the canyons although i suspect there may be a camp on my favorite trail since there was a fire the other day. Don’t worry, if I don’t feel safe, we won’t go there.

Night shot at the Old Globe plaza after the show. New LED lights make it impossible to shoot without light flares. May have to resort to editing things at some point. I do not understand how they can claim these don’t contribute to light pollution for the telescopes, but they make that claim.

Great attitude! My scale seems to be in a non-moving state as well. Thank goodness for non-scale victories like looser clothes and walking further and faster without becoming breathless to keep me motivated!

It's like sprays of light. I love that dome in the background. My understanding is that if the lights point downward it doesn't cause light polution, but those don't appear to point downward. 😣
