bestees.au's Journal, 03 May 2023

This was one of the difficult weeks because my family has returned from an overseas trip and brought a lot of my favourite sweets and savoury. That's a lot of carbs and fat.

Old me would have eaten at least 250g to 500g at a time and added thousands of calories to my body. The new me actually reasoned with myself and encouraged me to try all but within a limit. So I listened to my inner voice and tried all of it but only 20g to 30g each. One of the sweets I actually had was about 50g. Overall I tried to keep my calorie deficit the same as previous weeks. So, a big catastrophe is avoided. Still all the stuff sitting in the house and I vow myself not to self sabotage and I am listening.

I am so happy and grateful for this drop. The result is encouraging. 🫶🫶💙

👍 Well done... Sometimes our loved ones don't know how hard it is to stay on track, but when you think this will most probably continue to be a part of your life moving forward (ie. receiving gifts of food)... then you've taken the very best option by planning how to tackle those gifts rather than the default of 'eat everything'... Let's hope your family finish most of it quickly to get it out of your house until the next time 😉

@lizpackard09 thank you for encouragement. Completely agree with you that family members don't understand it as much as the person undertaking the challenge. For them life is normal and they like to shower you with stuff that they think you love it 😂. I am ok to eat little bits of it on daily basis as well as long as I am not shooting up the carbs. If we give too much carbs to our body, our metabolism function starts to lazearound because there is enough supply of quick energy. Ketosis also doesn't kickstart. Just need to balance it out.
