Katsolo's Journal, 05 March 2023

Didn't realize how many days I missed, but it's been busy. Yesterday was the SD Festival of Science and Engineering at Petco Park and I'm guessing we had at least 20,000 kids based on past events. Didn't stop from Friday night through about 2 yesterday afternoon for me because I no longer give them three full days. it's just too exhausting. This was literally the very last public event I did before the plague shut down the world in 2020 and it's interesting to see how the kids have been affected. And they most definitely have. My take on things, embrace the freedom and push forward with no lamenting the past. Just ditch the grief and let them learn and have fun now as much as they possibly want. Kids are resilient. And support these events, they have some catching up to do. Nice thing is that the crowd was 50/50 between boys and girls.

Went to bed sore, but not from muscles. My feet hurt, my calves were fatigued from going up and down a ton of stairs and I was spent. I was stationed at a gate and still got 3.9 miles in by 10AM "standing still" at the gate. All said, I had a great time and will do it again. My altimeter said I only climbed five flights of stairs, so that's wrong since each time I went to another deck was four flights in our ballpark and I did that at least five times separate from everything running merch. Good to know. Yet another device that's only a baseline. Actually, thinking back this morning, we had event wifi issues and I was in the bowels of the ballpark at times, so that may have contributed to the errors in reading. This is why you should always have an emergency radio. Technology is great when it works.

Got home and eventually walked the dogs so they weren't robbed of exercise and adventure. Weekend tourist shenanigans had us cut off the last bit of our route, but no biggie. My mom came over to the house during the day and I think she has a huge crush on Chance. She says he's perfect and just a snuggle bug. More like a snuggle elephant. Who still jumps on my bed.

Looks like trending high overall but blob down overall from last week. We'll call that good enough.

Grabbed some pics, but wanted to make sure no little faces show up so excuse the crops. Every single bit of the second floor of the stadium is full of kids and booths as well as the ground floor with the courtyards and open spaces. Last pic is just because it's a cool view.
