No movement on the scale but no complaints. I'm doing what I need to do and that's really my only concern. The scale will catch up at some point, I have no doubt. It's been humid here all week but I haven't skipped any outdoor exercise. Yesterday, I tried on my favorite swimsuit that I hadn't put on for fifteen years. I had kept it because I never liked other swimsuits I bought quite as much as this one. I did a little self talk before trying it on because I thought it might not fit or only fit if I stuffed myself into it. It fits like a glove. I've now gotten rid of cottage cheese thighs, wing arms and back rolls because of daily exercise and the diet changes. I'm beginning to realize how resilient the body is and that it's never too late to start taking care of it. I'm getting more done because I have more energy. I no longer wait for someone to get up and then ask them to get something for me while they are up. Instead, I get up and offer to get something for other people now. I realize this wasn't about laziness. It was about feeling achy and lack of leg strength when rising from a chair. Reaching for things and their weight caused my upper arms to ache. These things no longer happen. So, although I'm thrilled that my old swimsuit looks great, I'm especially happy with these NSV - quality of life changes that are happening.

Thanks! I needed to read this. I’ve been eating (mostly) healthy, and exercising/walking/Pilates and feeling much stronger and in shape—I struggled with wondering if I was lazy, but I’m realizing just what it actually feels like to have some energy! But, my weight is actually going up just a tad and I was getting discouraged. I’ll just keep focusing on my renewed energy and use that as my guide. I only have 10 pounds left to get to goal weight, but I’ve been here stuck for awhile. Maybe I’ll go try on an old swimsuit soon. :-)

I can totally relate to this! I used to avoid all trips to any store because of the walking involved. During the pandemic, my husband took over the grocery shopping. It was done because he didn't want me to be exposed to COVID and get sick. But I let him do it because I was ..... I don't know .... lazy..... had sore knees..... short of breath...? Pick an excuse and it was likely true. Maybe I didn't have the energy it took to complete an outing like that? Anyway, one of my NSV that I noticed a few months ago is this. When I climb the stairs, I no longer have to pull myself up by using the banister. I am propelling myself and lifting myself mostly from my legs. It feels different than struggling to get up the stairs!! I am also now back on the grocery shopping duties and other shopping trips are now considered opportunities to get steps in rather than a chore to be avoided! I am happy and proud for you and your swimsuit challenge! You are seeing results of your hard work and dedication! Good for you! 💪 💯 Thank you for posting this! It really touched me! 🌎 🫶 ☘️

Great job with your overall progress. I’ve learned that some weeks the scale doesn’t always reflect your hard work. Your success for the week doesn’t necessarily have to be numbers. It can be from how you feel, how your clothes fit, how much stronger you are getting, the amount of energy etc…

@ChristieSpain Sounds like you're happy with the progress you're making and seeing very positive changes. Maybe you're building muscles and that's why the scale is showing you up a little. I've read that muscle weighs more than fat. Wonderful that the things you are doing are bringing NSV rewards like renewed energy :) Maybe you are ready for the swimsuit try on!

@3dkids2 Thanks so much! It's definitely a win/win when we can get an errand done and get our step in too. And to do it in air conditioning is a perk! That's so great concerning climbing stairs. Yep, renewed leg strength and overall balance too. Very nice!

@ginoova Thank you! All good points! I think this really affirms why the number on the scale is a bit lower on my priority list week to week, month to month. I'm seeing success by keeping calm and carrying on. I set my goal somewhat high. It's not a sexy number for my height and age; it's a realistic one. It would be nice to get there and see how I feel and how I look. At that point, I could decide whether it's realistic to lower my weight goal. My bet is that my body will let me know it's comfort level, what weight it's happy at, how much exercise and food is acceptable for me to feel and look healthy. I am not set on a particular number. I'm not a number LOL
