I am figuring out what everyone keeps saying about how the macros are the important thing and that counting calories is not where it is at. I have known for a long time a calorie is not a calorie. At least not for me. I have now cut out all white flour, all pasta, all sugar, all breads, all crackers, all potatoes and have been trying to keep the ratios close and the scale is moving! YAY

That is exactly what I did, and I feel so much better and alive...sleep like a baby too...are u on the Atkins plan?

Re-energize - I am not on Atkins strictly. I have just been playing with food and how my body reacted to different foods for months. Like I said, I figured out that if I ate pasta the scale went up and if I ate steak it went down. Calorie for calorie they could be the same or the steak dinner could be more and I'd lose weight. I have been told by my Dr. that I am prediabetic and diabetes is definitely in my family. Again I listened to my body and figured out if I ate sweets the next day I would feel like crap! I would wake up with this funny coated taste in my mouth. So I just started cutting things out but the weight would not go down. It was very frustrating because I belong to several low carb groups through Facebook and would read these fabulous stories about people losing 25 lbs in one month etc. But I was committed to this way of eating, I could tell it was more satisfying, my skin feels better, my hair is healthier etc so I just kept reading and seeing what others were doing that was working. I keep trying new recipes. There are some awesome inventive people out there eating this way and loving it. The sleep is better but not perfect but you are right, you just feel so much better eating this way. The best part is not starving all the time!

Congrats to you on the scale moving. It really does feels good to be free of the starchy, and sugary foods that use to haunt us (cravings). 40 days without anything with sugar or high carbs...Yes! I think I am finally grabbing hold of healthy eating.
