My weight was fluctuating (I thought at first) due to water weight. Now I'm starting to believe I'm simply not eating enough. I've been trying to keep my caloric intake around 1500, but I'm doing better at 1600-1800. I don't eat enough, so I've starting making up for it... by having a half cup of heavy cream whipped up with some sugar free Jell-O!

It's sort of funny watching yourself gain weight because you're not eating enough, but that's what "serious dieting" is. Watching what you eat, how much you eat, and adjust accordingly if something isn't working out.

Good for you for figuring this out and experimenting with boosting your calories! You wouldn't believe how many people continue to starve themselves and gain (or stall) when all they need to do is EAT MORE. :)

It just seems SOOOOO counter-intuitive, but from what I've been reading, that's exactly what you need to do. If I ate less, I'd just feel even more hungry. If I worked out more, I would just feel even hungrier still. Trying to keep my carbs below 20 net for a few more months, just because I think it can be done, not because I think I MUST. But in order to do that, I cannot restrict my calories like that -- it works for a little while, until it doesn't.

Well now that's a GOOD realization! :-) Hope it works for you!

The body is an amazing construct; when you're not eating enough, your body says "time to go into lockdown" and stores more fat (fat is fuel and the body CAN live off fat cells for a while) than it would normally. Many people think, "Oh, well, if calories is how you get fat, I'll just stop eating except for one meal a day" and then are surprised, because when they do eat, they pig out, and the body traps every last little calorie it can as fat, and they gain weight. Good on you for realising that you have to balance it out.
