I have been learning a lot about fasting and low carb diet. As a scientist, I love reading scientific studies and watching videos of lectures on these topics. I know it isn't everyone's interest but it keeps me motivated.

Saturday, 11/6, will be 8 weeks since I began my fasting and Low carb trial. So far I have lost almost 15# and my BMI has decreased 2.5. I am blown away!

Quite a few years ago, maybe 8?, I joined the group Goal by Birthday. My goal was to weigh 180#. I thought that would be hard work and struggled to get there time and again. I documented every bite every day. I stepped up my activities and was disappointed every time. It was hard work, unpleasant and discouraging.

I know better than ever now that one size does not fit all. Some folks do well with WW,I did not, some do well with calorie counting, I do not. I have found losing weight with fasting to be not uncomfortable and quite easy. I know it isn't everyone's cup of tea and for some who get the "keto flu" it is unpleasant for a while. I am so delighted, finally, at age 73 I am able to lose excess weight. Just delighted.

178.4 lb Lost so far: 27.6 lb.    Still to go: 8.4 lb.    Diet followed reasonably well.

I need more details please. So you fast twice a week for 36 hours. Then 100 g of carbs daily, otherwise. Calories? Thank you! Great job by the way@

Sorry I missed your comment 2 years ago when you posted it. I stopped looking at fat secret for the last two years. Yes, fasting is easy I ate normally on Sunday and after my evening meal on Sunday I didn't eat again until Tuesday morning. I then did the same thing again on Friday. I found that mostly, at the beginning, I was browsing around looking for something to eat when in fact what I was really looking for was an activity to fill my time. Clean out the junk drawer, finally file those papers, go for a walk, I finally got used to not filling my time with eating and thinking about food. It was really very easy. I was never uncomfortable if I had a growly tummy I would just remind myself that that is normal and I didn't need to respond to it with food as the goal was to not eat. . If you're still on that secret let me know. Now that I'm back I will respond to comments. I hope you had good luck

Yes, forgot to add, I did not count calories The only reason I use the nutritional information on fat secret was to keep my carbs below 100. That turned out to be very easy to do. Again best of luck
