Come to find out, steroids make you gain weight. No wonder I have continued to gain so much weight since September. In September I weight 184. I now weigh 220. That just makes me sick to think about. However, I have been on a course of doctor prescribed steroids, I have been diagnosed with POTS, I have also been diagnosed with Superior Canal Dehiscence, and 3 weeks ago I underwent a very serious surgery to collapse and plug the dehiscence as well as reinforce the round window on my left inner ear. All of this has been crazy and I try to remind myself everyday that all of this is why I have gained weight. The recovery is going to take a long time, but I WILL GET THERE! I have to be patient with myself and my body. At this point, the doctor reminds me that it is as if I am hearing English through one ear and German through the other ear. I have to separate the languages, translate the German, and then proceed to take a step. I can do it, but it will take time. The good news is that I will be off the steroid in about a week!!!! That will help tremendously. Physical Therapy starts tomorrow! Here we go!
