Big Boy Optimus's Journal, 09 September 2021

My official weight this morning is 132.7kg.

I'm BAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAACK!!! :D

Happy to see a 5kg drop after 3 days of rebooting my journey. The last 2 to 3 years were absolute chaos and I lost focus. I kept delaying my reboot and then realised that the year is almost over so I sucked it up, gave myself a stern motivational talk and rebooted.

My initial loss is always big as it's mostly water loss so don't feel that you are losing too less based on my results. I will average out to about 0.3kg to 0.7kg loss per week once settled in.
292.6 lb Lost so far: 0 lb.    Still to go: 17.0 lb.    Diet followed reasonably well.
losing 25.7 lb a week

Thanks for the comments and support. Richard I started with Intermittent Fasting and few other rules. Previously, a few years ago, I lost over 35kg and documented my progress here on my Journal. You are welcome to read it. Just go way back to the 1st entry and see how I started and what I eventually settled at doing.

Glad to be back Countess! It's been a hell of an awesome journey a few years back but it just goes to show that our body can be in either fat burning state OR fat storing state and once I stopped paying attention to my food intake, I just piled on the weight/fat again as I previously did oblivious to what made me gain weight/fat. The last 2 years with the COVID pandemic made it even harder to stay motivated but I am angry with myself for letting so much time go by yet I figured out how to lose and maintain myself. I am actually going to refresh myself by reading my journal from the start. There's so much valuable information in there.

Wow great stuff. I was looking to lose 12.4kgs by Christmas but I'm only down 2.2kgs with 10.4kgs to go. I'm trying my best to keep within my calories but would love any additional advice to meet my goal.

Nadia there's many weighs to lose. (See what I did there?) Firstly keeping within your calories is a great start. That's how i started too and results were good. Then I experimented alot. Try having 500 calories maximum days 3 days a week but alternate them so u don't need to do them consecutively. When u do a 500calories limit you need to pay careful attention to the choice of foods for the day. Choose foods low in calories that u can still eat big quanttities of to feel full. Veggies like butternut, cabbage, mushroom, cucumber, lettuce, etc can help u achieve big meals that are low calories. U could eat a burger and chips for 500 calories or u could choose to have 3 huge bowls of food for 500 calories.

Big Boy Optimus I read your advice for Nadia. You don’t train on a 500 calorie day?

Thank you I'm currently on a 1200 calorie intake a day. I try to switch it up and sometime zig zag just a little by 200 calories under or 200 calories over just to reset. I want to get into some cardio.

i really appreciate your approach. We are often hard on our selves when it comes to gaining weight we had previously lost. i think you and i are on a similar path. We've figured out how to lose weight, we now need to learn how to keep it off permanently.

Khalida I haven't been to gym in about 2 or 3 years and when i finally went bck this year, we had the looting which shut down things again. Prior to all this chaos I would train 3 to 4 times a week and I'd do it on the low calorie days too. I would do the advanced form of low calorie days by choosing not to eat food at all instead of eating a restrictive 500 calories. Many people have found it's easier to do no food days than 500 calories because once u eat food u tend to feel hungry again very quickly. I've literally done 420kg incline rack leg press on a no food day but it took time to get to that level. Fasted training is great for burning up fat for energy. @Countess to keep it off permanently one needs to ensure they are not in fat storing state. It's not like losing your sock and never finding it again, our body will gain fat if we just go about eating anything and everything everyday of the week. Some ppl by coincidence already eat meals that keep them lean. Every household is different when it comes to food. We just have to be a bit thoughtful.
