Tomorrow will be running 20 miles and 5000' elevation gain on the Appalachian Trail with a friend. Changed my mind on energy drinks. I'm going to take 40oz of Orange Poweraid. Expecting to run around 5 hrs, will be interesting with all the snow. Going to stick with peanut butter cookie Larabars, they went down well on last weekend's run. Spent 30 minutes a day in the shower with higher pressure jet at high temperature on my legs. Worked really well on my DOM's. Legs feel fresh today. I'm not going to pack any Advil. Looking forward to my next race on 2/15. Trail marathon - Pilot Mountain in NC.

That's outstanding, any tips you figure out for easing the pain around 20 miles and beyond would be great. For recovery in College we used to keep big trash cans full of ice water, each player had to jump in for 60 seconds. It worked well, maybe you could try that in the bathtub. Good luck with your run hope there is good scenery.
