Down another 1/2 a pound this morning!! Life is wonderful. Pretty relaxing day planned. It is 5am on a Saturday and I am already up??? Can't sleep anymore thanks to the curse of menopause the sleep patterns aren't what they used to be but I did get 7 hours of good sleep so I am ok with that. Gonna get in the work out before tennis starts at 7am.
Australian Open womens final is on today, wish I were out playing tennis instead of watching it but oh well, spring is here soon right??? Not....another snow storm expected Wed I think, lost count 70+ inches of snow so far and way too long to go yet!
Dinner is going to be Garlic Balsamic Chicken Breasts, Braised Cabbage and a potato dish called Babs Potatos Supreme. I did a bit of an experimentation using Atkins All Purpose Baking Mix and soy milk instead of the usual flour, butter and heavy cream. Will see how those come out.
Hope you all have a sparkling day!!

Way to go on the weight loss. I love watching tennis as well. No Nadal or Federer in the Men's final ugh. We sound so much alike. I'm going through menopause as well so emotionally when you throw in the trying to lose weight I'm a wreck. I have to plan what I'm going to eat daily so I won't give in to any temptations. Congrats on the 1/2 lb. I weigh in tomorrow.

Jaynesuss- First let it be said, THE POTATOS SUCKED!!! I do not usually end up with a total failure in the kitchen, but these were terrible. So much for my experiment of swapping out the cream, butter and flour for soy milk and Atkins all purpose baking mix. Check out my journal entry for dinner tonight...you will roar. I have since changed my recipe back to my original recipe. I think this is just one of those recipes I just can not skinny down. My husband loves them, we don't have them that often, I don't make as big of a pan of them when I do make them. I can get by with just having a few tablespoons of them, or just make them on my high calorie day. Aside from that disaster, the chicken and braised cabbage both came out spectacularily!! PS > The remaining potatoes have found their way down the garbage disposal, couldn't get them there fast enough. I did manage to salvage a few slices for each of us, covered his with cheese to hide the disaster. His only comment about them was, "gee honey, I think these are a little different than the way you usually make them but everything else is really delicious!" Gotta love him! I don't think he will ask what happened to the left overs! So I am spending some time searching for high protein/low fat foods and/or snacks. Planning is so critical for me to be able to keep my macro-nutrients on plan. Now here I am at the end of the day, I am short and on days like this I need something I can have that will satisfy my daily plan. My big screw up is that I did not have my protein shake this morning, that would have taken care of it.

@Bake...If I had seen your post earlier, I would have had you over for dinner...minus the potatos, as you can see from my previous entry, certainly not company worthy and almost not even family worthy...LOL!!

Oh no!!! Well, they sure sounded good! hahahaaa Some dishes just cant be altered...i agree!!!! I have a couple of those, that I have tried to cut down and go skinny on but it just didnt work! I love your husbands comment..."these are a little different...." My husband phrases himself exactly the same way...I call it his nice way of telling me it sucks! hahahahahaaa Maybe have a boiled egg tonight to add in some protein?!

@Jay- I will do that, I have a hard boiled one in the fridge, yum that will go well with my fruit and yogurt but I think it will do the trick!
