how the hell to do follow a 500 calorie a day diet and GAIN weight? i just do not get it. alan gained yesterday but he pigged out last night. i gained but didn't even get to cheat. this is getting frustrating for me because I have SO much to lose. I know it didn't come on overnight and not going away overnight but when i look back on my yoyo dieting i can see the pattern. i really have not had a very good discipline when it came to dieting. i more or less went a wk or sometimes two wks and cut down but nothing this strict and certainly not this long and this strict. i can feel my body is hungry, i don't feed it. i can imagine this is what an anorexic feels like only she likes to have that control over it. mine is the opposite. i don't like NOT eating. so there are my thoughts for today. i stick to this and i don't cheat and i gain. that sucks!
218.2 lb Lost so far: 1.8 lb.    Still to go: 78.2 lb.    Diet followed reasonably well.

way too few calories is my guess. Your body has a protective mechanism to conserve fat. Eat the right foods, gets lots of fiber and it will come off. Don't forget to exercise. Stick with it, don't starve yourself

Your body is in starvation mode. No one can survive on 500cal a day. You need to nourish and eat balanced meals. You have to eat at least 1400 cal a day. You have to take in protein, complex carbs and healthy fats and fibre with every meal. My advice is to keep your fat intake to healthy fats - nuts, seeds.. (not animal fats) and no more than 40g of fat per day, make sure you eat complex carbs - fruit, veg, whole wheats. Just cut out the crap - no take away, no pizzas, no frozen/microwave foods, no chocolates, no icecreams, nothing that is made with white flour. You should eat 50% complex carbs, 25-30% protein and 255 healthy fats per day Have 1 cheat meal per week - just 1 meal not the whole day and in moderation. For instance every Sunday night you can have what you want to eat (pizza/burger/chocolate/doughnut..) but in moderation. Not 2 burgers with supersize fries. Just 1 plain sigle burger with small fries. Buy yourself Oxygen magazine for motivation If you eat correctly 90% of the time you will lose weight. Trust me I have lost 12kg now in 6 months. I could have done better but I do cheat alot - especially in December. If you lose 3 kg a month it is really very very good. Good luck! Nicky
