Okay...so I can't stay off the scale. It moved in the right direction! Scared me moving up while I was keeping carbs low, calories low, and walking a lot. I have to remember for my next menstrual cycle how much my weight will rise and how long it takes to go back to normal with water retention. Hopefully I will calm down with the scale obsession soon and check in weekly. It is amazing how I went from not weighing in to avoid seeing how heavy I was to obsessed with knowing what I weigh. I only check in the morning at least. I know water consumption throughout the day adds pounds and drinking fluids is important!

Google "why the scale lies" to get insight in to water weight fluctuation. If you weigh daily, it's good to know all the things that can cause a weight gain (temporary) even if you are doing everything right.

I stay off the scale for the entire week of my menstrual cycle or else I find myself panicking and freaking out every morning. It's nothing for me to put on an additional 4-8 extra pounds during that time, and I'd just rather not even see it. I also have a difficult time leaving the scale alone, so it's definitely a challenge for me to stay off of it for a few days, but I know if I see that extra weight, it'll scare me too much.
