Week 5 done, starting week 6.

Up half a pound this week. Total carb overload on Christmas eve and day. Then a bit of a breakdown yesterday. I am working hard at not beating myself up over Sunday. I had "pre-approved" the holiday eating and drinking, so no guilt there.

I have always struggled with the need to keep the peace between my husband and son and it really stresses me out. When they argue it just rips me apart. That is when I cannot seem to find a way to self soothe without carbs and alcohol. I have for ever played referee between the two of them. I recognize that they will never learn to communicate if I keep jumping in. Thus Sunday's breakdown. They argue, I try my damndest to stay out of it, and end up sabotaging my own health. That and then late in the day we decided to order pizza for dinner when I had already had a high carb breakfast. In the absence of planning and the presence of emotional drama I gave in and gave up. I know it's just one day, but I am really working at recognizing my weak points so I can find a way to strengthen them.

I finally!!! hit my weekly step goal! Tonight I will take some extra time to give myself a really good pedicure and paint my toenails up right. :)

Goals this week remain largely the same as last with just a few minor adjustments

Daily:
Morning Stretch
Evening Stretch or Conditioning exercises
10 min meditation
7500 Steps (500 more than last week)
90 Carb limit (10 less than last week)
2 drink limit
80 oz Water
Gratitude Note
Give myself a hug (new reminder to be kind to myself)

Week:
60,000 steps

Some of these goals are getting to be very routine. That's what I want. To make these permanent life changes to stay healthy. I am almost to the point that I could remove some of them from daily goals, but not quite yet. I want to really do these things without even thinking about them before I stop tracking them.
