I guess I did better than I thought this week. I've been following well until the taco salad the other night....still, I lost 2 lbs this week. Not so good for the month, but it's headed the right way. And it doesn't matter how long it takes me.....I'm still going to get healthy. I'll be seeing the doctor next month and I think she'll be very happy with my losing 35 lbs plus. I'm hoping my blood pressure is down, too. I really want to get off the meds. I'm making chili for supper tonight. I've been hungry for it. We haven't had it since this past winter. The weather is getting cooler here and I'm just in the mood for it. Hubby bought lean ground meat and no salt added tomatoes and tomato sauce so I won't have to worry about the sodium in it. I make a big pot of it so there will be plenty of leftovers. It's always better the second time around. I finally got to the grocery store yesterday after cleaning the church and got a cantaloupe, cottage cheese, skim milk, regular and greek yogurt, fat free mayo, lettuce, onions, English muffins and eggs. Oh, and fat free ice cream. I'm set for the week. Take care all! Dee

nice. two pounds is good. little by little. i've been splurging these past couple of days. wedding parties, death in the family....etc. it all comes with food at the table. it's either a. i dont partake and starve or b. partake and choose the best selections from the variety. Even though I splurged, let's hope I lose! take care Dee.

I think, given your circumstances, Monica, you took the best option. You're too much in control of yourself to let it get away from you. And after everything is over, you'll be able to go back to your regular meals. I need to get myself moving. I know it would help but since I have orders for four hats, two baby blankets, and the tree skirt I'm making for a friend for Christmas, I'll have to try and work it in. It would help if I wasn't sitting around crocheting so much. I only go out about three days a week, so I try to get lots of walking in on those days. Thanks for stopping by. I appreciate it. You inspire me with your dedication. :)

Awesome job with the 2 pounds Dee!! I take what I can get when it comes to the weight loss!! I've been trying to do this slow, and trying to do around 2 pounds a week. Sometimes I go up a little and sometimes I stay the same. I don't have high blood pressure problems, so I don't watch my sodium too much. and I don't really watch my fats, with the exception that I read the label info, and if it has a lot of trans fats or saturated fat, I steer away from that. I have emphysema, so I can't really do traditional cardio exercises. I get out and get to the gym right now twice a week. I have to go to physical therapy on Mon. and Fri. so I go to the gym next door and do my exercise in the pool!! I know this is hard, but anything worth having is worth working or fighting for!!! It will take a little time but I know you can do this!!! I'm pulling for ya!!

Thanks, puma. I need the support. :) I know 2 lbs is healthy and I agree...I'll take whatever I get. It's not easy but you're right about fighting for it. I'm not giving up. This time I mean it. This time I'm staying with it.
