Happy weekend. Had a good swim yesterday, swam in daylight and that was nice. Learned some stuff about my tracker as well. Even when I put it on pause, it factors in resting heart rate and that affects the average and the METs. So here's what I parsed out from the more detailed numbers. 45 minutes with a five minute break after the first set because I had to get out of the pool. Happens. Swam another full 30 minutes on top of that for 40 total. 940 strokes, average (adjusted) heart rate mid 140's. Turned pool up the other 5 notches, but it didn't feel like it for the 30 minute set, so not sure it "took" and saved it. Will need to look that up in the manual. Doesn't really matter, did the work. Simple calculation for METs puts it at 10.3, factoring in the break. What matters, I swam, it felt pretty good and I increased the speed for at least the first portion. Also used the small paddles for the very last set.

We decided to bring dinner back to the house tonight. I'm good with that. Won't be as hot, but more likely to be safe and that's what matters. California has been instructed to wear masks while eating (ridiculous if you think about transfer of germs) so we're just going to play it safe and eat here. I haven't read the official mandate yet, so just going off what's in the media - it could be incorrect.

Wait a tick. How do you... Are they for real? How do you wear a mask while eating? Better safe than sorry I guess, but gosh. That’s definitely a head scratcher.

I had visions of Hannibal Lecter, myself. Chianti, anyone? Yup, it’s real. They advise you put it back on between bites. I did look it up. Dumb. All that touching is going to spread germs.

Kat, that is just all kinds of silly in my opinion 🤔 When we were in Illinois...on our way to Wisconsin recently we were told to put our masks on as we entered the restaurant & any time the wait staff was at your table. That made sense. Pulling your mask up & down between bites...who is that protecting? I'd just stay home...or as you say do takeout.

I'm glad you got in a good swim. Seems like you are nearly all recovered from your back trouble? I'm behind on everything... But with that kind of swim, you must be feeling pretty good! And... Life sure is strange, but I'm glad you got to have somthing you didn't have to prepare to enjoy for dinner even if you had to bring it home. No matter what, I love it when someone other than me is the cook!!! 😁
