Finally busted through that 183 hoover point. I'm headed down down down.

I'm starting a new type of diet today. Almost finished reading "Lose the Wheat - Lose the Weight" by William Davis, MD. Very interesting book. . . . so I'm going to give it a go. For my records my official start weight for this diet will be 182. Let's see what a couple of weeks will do.

When I weighed in at a whopping 207 last year - I never thought I could give up toast every morning - but I did and it wasn't that hard to do. Now it's "wheat" in general and wheat is in everything!

This will be a real big challenge but the results & rewards sound amazing. I can't wait to get started. Oh wait, I've already started.
181.9 lb Lost so far: 48.1 lb.    Still to go: 26.9 lb.    Diet followed reasonably well.
losing 5.3 lb a week

Day 2 - sure had plenty to eat but I think I might of experienced some "wheat" withdrawal as I had a slight headache and extreme mid-afternoon cravings. Dr. Davis said that would happen.

My sympathy goes out to you - I too had some wheat withdrawal symptoms when I started this. Days 2-3 were the toughest for me, but after I got through those symptoms I started to feel much better, with more energy too! Good luck and stick with it :)

Thanks for the words of encouragement glenne04. I know I can do this - I'm substituting crackers w/ nuts and putting my sandwich stuff on lettuce and stuff like that. It's kinda fun actually and amazing how much "other" food I can put on my plate. Interesting too - this is day 3 - and I noticed that my rings are really loose. Been a long time since I that as a problem. LOL How was your "girls nite" at the casino?

Girls night was awesomely fun - not only was the food good, the gaming fun, and the drinks/people watching enjoyable, we won some money too! I bought a groupon for the night at $118, which included $40 dining credit and $50 casino credit in addition to the hotel room for the night. We couldn't cash out the $50, but we could cash out our winnings as we went. We walked away with $78 in winnings!! So the whole night cost us about $60 out of pocket (118 for the groupon and an extra 20 at dinner, minus the 78). And best of all, we ate small, delicious portions so I didn't ruin my weightloss too badly - I indulged in a delicious portion of bread.. I don't know if it was good because I haven't been eating it at all, or if it was really that good. But it made me realize just how crappy the typical store bought bread really is - and oddly made it easier to resist carbs!
