My daily weight fluctuates quite a bit, as much as 1.2 kg (2 lb 10 oz) difference from one day to the next, and I'm tired of seeing FatSecret's ridiculous and annoying warnings about my strictly-temporary gains and losses. "You're gaining weight at a rapid rate: 3.5 kg/week." The "Hacker's Diet Online" tool at fourmilab.ch, which I also use, computes a rolling average. In my experience the rolling average is an excellent indicator of which way my weight is actually going, much better than the noisy daily reading. Since the rolling average is what I want to track, and since I'm tired of ridiculous notices, I think I'll post my rolling average here instead of the daily number from now on. And while I'm at it I'll send a suggestion to FatSecret that they implement their own rolling average, at least optionally.
188.7 lb Lost so far: 14.1 lb.    Still to go: 14.6 lb.    Diet followed reasonably well.
losing 0.8 lb a week

Sounds like a lot of extra steps and time. I'm glad SOMEONE has the spare time to be a perfectionist. I sure don't. But if FS implements the rolling avg, I might use it. My eyeballs are pretty good at averaging. I take a certain amount of pride in doing things "my way" instead of the way "everybody" thinks it should be done, so FS' "warnings" are just a pleasant reminder to me that I have chosen a way that works better for me than for the unwashed masses for which FS is aimed.
