mossum's Journal, 14 January 2009

Shit - I don't get it. I've been researching all over hell and gone and from what I can find I'm expending a minimum of 1900 cal/day (some say (2300-2700) and eating a max of 1700 (usually 1300-1400). Simple math would indicate I'd be losing at this rate, but my weight seems to be holding steady.

Yesterday, while sweating my ass off on the elliptical, I chanted: Every day my body sheds one pound of excess fat. I said it over and over and over!

I am frustrated.

You have lost 3 pounds in the past few days. You are doing fine. You can't expect to lose every day, our bodies don't work that way. Losing more than 2 pounds a week usually means you are losing muscle too. You don't want to lose muscle because that is what makes you lean and helps you burn more calories. Other things factor in to weight loss (besides calories in and those burned) such as muscle soreness, sodium intake, hormones, stess levels, etc. Have patience and it will come off.
