Katsolo's Journal, 26 July 2020

Sitting outside this morning, trees are full of bird noises, it's like a jungle. The new neighbors took down all of their trees and I guess the birds have all moved over to my yard. I need to try and reboot that relationship at some point. We got off on the wrong foot when she came over and gave me a list of things i needed to do. Or not, we'll see. May not be worth it.

Good swim yesterday followed by 20 minutes of bands and water resistance training (Batman hands). Upper back is a little sore, so mission accomplished there. Decided that I need some new goals, so I'm going to refocus on building strength and if September is a little less crazy here, start working out with a trainer friend. He scares me a little, but the competition gene will kick in, I'm sure.

Yesterday was my day to chill, ton of stuff has to get done today, so off we go.

I’ve heard that, with the lockdown, Nature has bounced back. One of thesigns is that birds are singing more and louder. So maybe you are also noticing this effect!

Did I read that correctly? Your neighbor gave you a list of things you need to do?! And this was after they cut all their trees down?! WOW!! Tell her "Thanks fot the song birds" and "Mind your own business"! Glad I don't have neighbors.

She really did. I just looked at her, smiled, answered with a non-committal, “I’ll think about it,” and we haven’t spoken since. Her gardening guy says she’s a little nuts. Thinks trees are going to fall on her house.

You were much nicer than I would have been! 🤣🤣 Let me know if you need help not being non-commital! Services are FREE. 😄

Wow. Why would she make demands when she is the one who is new to the neighborhood?

Well it's true...trees might fall on your house 😯 But, that hasn't made us cut all of our's down and we're surrounded by some huge ones. She sounds a little crazy to me. I think I'd keep her at arms length cause she would surely piss me off at some point. Just keep on enjoying ALL the birds 😀

I'd rather have birds in my trees than bats in my belfry.

She moved into an historic neighborhood with tons of trees and old houses. No HOA, thank goodness, and most of the houses here have established trees. She’ll mellow out or move on. I picked this neighborhood because it’s full of free spirits, it’ll all be fine. And i do know how to be direct, if needed. Do it all day at work. 😎

I’m loving the extra birds.

I hear a lot now that I am working from home and not in a windowless cubicle

It’s wonderful, isn’t it? I thrive on light, so cubicles were always hard on me.

I think you should be a kind neighbor Kat and return the favor and give her YOUR list!! 😛 How on earth can some people have such boldness? You sound reasonable enough about it though, nicer than many of us would be. 😉

Nah, not worth my time. If she sends her husband over to deal with me, well, we'll deal with it at that point.
