DiamondGirl701's Journal, 04 November 2010

Yesterday the scale said 218.2. When I try to lose weight, I monitor the scale rather closely. It's an addiction I have been fighting for years. My husband helps me though. He keeps me motivated and will hide the scale on me from time to time. I don't miss the scale when I can't find it. Maybe that should be a lesson to me. Ha! Right. I'll weigh in again next week. Once a week should be enough, right?
217.2 lb Lost so far: 12.8 lb.    Still to go: 67.2 lb.    Diet followed reasonably well.

I do the SAME thing... but I don't stress over it. I weigh every day (sometimes a couple times, at different times of the day) just to get an idea of how my weight fluctuates and what causes it. But I know not to take any weight seriously until actual weigh-in day!

Once a week is plenty. I'm like Sonya, I weigh daily, sometimes several times a day, but only record when I feel like it. Sometimes that's every couple days, sometimes I'll go a couple weeks without recording. I have a system...if I like the number I see on the scale, I record it. That's my system. ;) It is important to note that the scale is not the best measure of progress, it's only a measure of weight. When my losses slow down or seem to stop, I focus on my fitness progress & how my clothes fit to keep myself motivated. Sometimes I will spend several minutes flexing my biceps in the bathroom mirror...ignoring, of course, the batwings below.
