dontwant2befat's Journal, 17 October 2008

Got on the scale this morning and was pleased as well as shocked. I haven't really been putting much effort in excersie wise but have been working on paying attention to portions, water intake, and what kind of foods. I have also been doing the chew you food challenge and it seems to help to. I find that I eat less and don't get as hungry in between eating.

Today I am having a much better day. Get to go to some football tonight and the weather has cooled off. The perfect football weather. I got to sleep last night with the windows open and it has been so pleasant. The kids are wanting to go to the Troy University game on Saturday and I think I might splurg and take them. The really want to go to an Alabama game but that is next to impossible so Troy would be a nice exchange. Can you tell I love football. LOL

There is a 24 hour all women's gym in town. It kind of does the circut training like CURVES. If I can get off of work in time to make the 4:00 - 6:00 sign up hours I think it would be good for me to sign up. You get a pass key so you can go anytime of day. Even at 1:00 am if you as so inclined. I think if I have something that flexiable to get me started it is worth trying.

Anyway like the song goes "the sun will come up tomorrow" that is how I am taking each day it is true that each day is a new start and it all depends on how you decided to start that day. Cheesey I know but you got to love it. LOL

Not cheesy at all! Your journal is so peaceful and surreal today. I got goose bumps at the thought of it being warm enough to still have the window open at night and the "splurge" of going to the football game. Wow. That just sounds so simple and NICE! I LOVE it. Okay, the worrier in me is coming out... do be safe from the wackos that go out and try to climb in open windows at night. lol That's just the paranoid, in me coming out. ;) I'm sure you're very safe. YES, do join that gym!! How NICE to be able to at 11pm on a weekend night and have the place to yourself, if you so see fit! =D LOVE it! I think it'd be empowering knowing you can go WHENEVER you'd like. CONGRATZ on watching the eating portions and chewing well and the LOSS! KEEP on ROCKIN' up!! Meet cha on the deck for a few laps of walking in the morning sun in a few, eh? ;)

Thanks BT, I think I will meet you for a few laps LOL. The only thing we have to fear around here getting in the window is a coon. But that is what we have coon dogs for. Last night my dog sat by the window and whined because she wanted us to come out and play. LOL.

lol Awe... do you know how badly I'd LOVE to add a bloodhound to my house?? Glad to hear you are in a safe place. Danged coons, anyway! lol I have video of a big ol brasin' momma coon, sittin' are our back porch eating up the dog food and didn't give a dang that our Lacey dog was right there at the sliding window barkin' at her. I was so afraid hubby would open the door and let her out. I had to threaten him if he did, as you know, it wouldn't have been pretty, and I'da had to kill hubby for letting her get hurt! lol Have a fantastic day!

You sound like you're in a much better place today! Fantastic! Congrats on the loss! All of the first part of my dieting was from food alone...no exercising...so you must have been making some great choices! Definitely join the gym though....gets you out, and seeing people, you need that for your well being as well! Have fun at the Football game. I love football too...but with Tom Brady being injured..its not looking like a good season for us this year!

So glad that you're taking some time to enjoy yourself. I love the idea of a 24 hour gym--sometimes I still struggle with feeling embarrassed about jiggling about with other people around, and it's nice to think about being able to go when there might not be people there. (This is silly thinking, I know, but it is what it is!) You're definitely not cheesy--you're absolutely right! Attitude is a big definer of how a day will be. Glad to see your attitude is fabulous!

Taking the kids to the game, that is awesome! I also know that those are not resting calories, so , enjoy it without guilt. You have to walk from parking, kids in tow, I'm sure your hands will not be empty, Stand up and cheer - or boo for a few hours, more energy. you'll make it to the gym, but enjoy your kids and the game, that's what makes life great!

I sing that song frequently-I am an awful singer but make up for it with enthusiasm and volume. A popular practice for people who identify themselves as "positive" Is to do exactly as you say-decide first thing that the day will be a good one and then go for it. I try to do it every morning (when I remember, I am not a morning person) before I get out of bed and it makes a real difference. Good for you!
